We know how frustrating it can be trying to book a practical driving test, especially when you're ready to get on the road independently!

The DVSA has updated its guidance on how driving tests are released, and there are a few things every learner driver should know. ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ“… ๐–๐‡๐„๐ ๐€๐‘๐„ ๐๐„๐– ๐ƒ๐‘๐ˆ๐•๐ˆ๐๐† ๐“๐„๐’๐“๐’ ๐‘๐„๐‹๐„๐€๐’๐„๐ƒ?

Every Monday at ๐Ÿ”๐š๐ฆ, the DVSA releases another week of driving tests, including on bank holidays.

However, these tests are for ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’ ๐ฐ๐ž๐ž๐ค๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐š๐๐ฏ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž, NOT cancellations or earlier appointments!

Here's what you need to know:

โฐ ๐“๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ž'๐ฌ ๐ง๐จ ๐ฆ๐š๐ ๐ข๐œ ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ž ๐ญ๐จ ๐œ๐ก๐ž๐œ๐ค! Cancellations can appear at any time of day, not just Monday mornings.

๐Ÿ“ฑ ๐€๐ฏ๐จ๐ข๐ ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ซ๐ž๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐  ๐จ๐ซ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž ๐๐ž๐ฏ๐ข๐œ๐ž๐ฌ. This can trigger DVSA security restrictions and temporarily block your access.

๐Ÿš— PRIVATE PRACTICE: HELP YOUR LEARNER STAY SAFE

If youโ€™re supervising a learner driver in their own car, having an additional interior rear-view mirror allows you to monitor the road behind without relying on the learnerโ€™s mirror.

Itโ€™s a simple, inexpensive safety aidโ€”and an extra interior mirror for the examiner is required if the learner plans to take their driving test in their own car.

Small blind-spot mirrors can also improve visibility down the sides of the vehicle, helping the learner judge positioning, clearance and nearby traffic more effectively.

Remember, blind-spot mirrors are only an additional aid. Learners must still carry out proper mirror checks and physically check their blind spots before moving off or changing position.

A few inexpensive additions can make private practice safer and help prepare the car for test day.
