🚨🚨🚨St Helens. BP/Mcdonald roundabout. 🚨🚨🚨
In this video, I demonstrate both the wrong way and the correct way to navigate the BP/McDonald's roundabout in St Helens.

Coming down from James Roby Way (A570) and taking the fourth exit towards Sutton (A569).

The first demonstration shows the WRONG way.

The second demonstration shows the CORRECT way.

If you're doing it like I show in the first demonstration, you're doing it wrong.

Make sure you follow the route shown in the second demonstration.

How do you navigate this roundabout yourself?

Let me know in the comments.

Watch how I'm doing the Sherdley roundabout in St Helens.

I'm approaching from James Roby Way dual carriageway, and I'm taking the 4th exit.

On my first attempt, I demonstrate how so many of you are doing it wrong, and you believe that this is completely fine.

Completely fine to cut across someone else's lane and put other drivers at risk.

And on my second attempt, I demonstrate how to do it the correct way.

If you don't know what a spiral roundabout is, please pay a driving instructor for some lessons.

As I noticed from my last video, so many of you are following an imaginary clock.

Well, that imaginary clock is as real as Santa Claus.

And another thing I noticed in the comment section of my last video.

So many of you became driving instructors overnight.

While some driving instructors take 1 to 2 years, or even longer, to qualify, somehow so many of you managed to become driving instructors overnight just by watching a Facebook video.

Now, let me tell you something funny.

A lady commented on my last video saying that she's had her driving licence for 5 years, and she's been doing the roundabout a different way. According to her, my way is completely wrong.

I'm talking about approaching from McDonald's and taking the 3rd exit towards Sutton.

She was telling me that I should be in the right lane, not the left.

So this lady has been driving for 5 years, doing this roundabout wrong, and she genuinely believes she's a good driver and knows better.

Oh gosh, I think we all need to report to the council and ask them to close down the Kellogg's cereal driving test centre.

Because there are too many licence holders out there who believe that having a driving licence means they know everything.

And the biggest problem isn't even that you're driving badly.

The biggest problem is that you can't see your own mistakes, and even when someone shows you the correct way, you still don't want to learn.

We all make mistakes. Even driving instructors make mistakes.

But how are you supposed to improve your driving skills if you can't accept that you're wrong?

And by the way, the video I'm talking about is the one that has around 63,000 views.

I never expected that many views, and I definitely didn't expect to find so many licence holders from Kellogg's test centre in the comment section.

Now watch both attempts carefully and tell me which way you've been doing this roundabout.

From James Roby Way towards the M62, A570 South (Widnes).

You can approach the roundabout in the left-hand lane and then follow the middle lane as you enter the roundabout.

You can also use the right-hand lane.

However, if both lanes are available for your intended exit, I would recommend using the left-hand lane.

If you use the right-hand lane, you need to be particularly careful of vehicles to your left, as another vehicle could be alongside you or in your blind spot.

And here's something important to remember.

If you're in the right-hand lane and decide to move back into the left-hand lane without noticing a vehicle alongside you or in your blind spot, you could cause a collision.

If you collide with a vehicle already established in the left-hand lane, your insurance company will usually hold you responsible for making an unsafe lane change, although liability depends on the circumstances.

That's why, when both lanes are suitable for your intended exit, I recommend using the left-hand lane in this particular situation.

Always check your mirrors, be aware of your surroundings and make sure you stay within your lane.

Remember, just because you've indicated doesn't mean you have the right to change lanes.

Make sure it's safe before moving across. Never assume the lane next to you is clear..From James Roby way towards M62 A570(s) , widnes.

you can be in the left lane before joining the roundabout and middle lane while joining the roundabout.

you can be also in the right lane.
but if you can do it from both lanes,do it from the left .
as if you do it from the right, you might miss someone being in your left mirror potentially in your blindspot

BP/McDonald's Roundabout, St Helens.

This roundabout confuses many drivers, mainly because it's a spiral roundabout.

This time, I was approaching from the McDonald's direction, heading towards Sutton, taking the third exit (right).

However, despite turning right, you need to stay in the left-hand lane throughout this particular route.

This is where many drivers get confused, as they assume that turning right always means using the right-hand lane.

Watch the video carefully and tell me, would you have taken the same route and used the same lane as me?

Have you ever struggled with this roundabout?

🚨🚨🚨ASDA ROUNDABOUT 5TH EXIT 🚨🚨🚨
Well done, Evelyn.

You did really well. You stayed calm, focused, maintained control of the car and, most importantly, stayed within your lane without drifting into another one.

Our next lesson will focus on judging gaps, as Evelyn missed a few opportunities to go when it was safe.

I'll upload another video on Friday so you can see how much Evelyn has improved at judging gaps.

I'll also explain what to look for when judging gaps and how to recognise a safe opportunity to go.

Stay tuned for Friday's video.

St Helens, YMCA Roundabout.

Have you ever had a bad experience on this roundabout?

Share your experience in the comments, especially if it affected your driving test, so others can learn from your mistakes.

It was Evelyn’s first time tackling it. I explained what she needed to do, and she did really well.

We’re still working on her speed when joining the roundabout, as sometimes she joins a little too slowly.

But she’s a very quick learner, and I’m really proud of how quickly she’s progressing.

Now, here’s where this roundabout can catch you out.

Traffic entering from the first entrance might see you in the right-hand lane and assume you're going all the way around the roundabout.

They might then join alongside you on your left, not realising you're about to exit.

If you don't check your mirrors and blind spot properly when moving from the right lane into the left, you could end up having a collision.

If you're on your driving test, the examiner might even have to intervene by taking control of the steering wheel to avoid an accident, which would result in a failed test.

To everyone who's taken their driving test before, did this roundabout catch you out? Did you make any mistakes here?

Let me know in the comments.

🚨🚨Did Tom make the right decision, or should he have changed lanes earlier?🚨🚨
