🚨From 9 June, learner drivers will only be able to move their driving test to nearby test centres.

If you book a new test from this date, you will only be able to move your test to:

✅ any of the 3 centres nearest to where your test is booked

✅ the test centre you first booked at on that current booking

If you have an existing booking, the new rule will apply to where your test is booked at on 9 June – not where you first booked.

🌞 Hot weather can have a big impact on your travel plans and your vehicle too.

Before setting off, take a few minutes to carry out some essential vehicle checks to help avoid breaking down and being stuck at the roadside in the heat. 🚗☀️

✅ Check fluid levels
✅ Inspect tyres for pressure and condition
✅ Make sure oil levels are correct
✅ Ensure you have enough fuel or charge for your journey
✅ Keep your phone charged in case of emergencies.

It’s also a good idea to carry plenty of water, sunglasses, and maybe a large umbrella to keep out of direct sunlight if there is no shade around.

A little preparation can make your journey safer, smoother, and more comfortable for everyone. Stay safe and travel smart this summer.

From today, there will be more changes for learner drivers.

Only you can book or manage your car driving test. This means your driving instructor won’t be allowed to book it for you.

The campaign to protect young drivers and strengthen the driver licensing system in Britain has continued to see great momentum throughout April, with lots of discussion around what the Government need to do to reduce road death and injury caused by this at-risk group. Earlier this month we published our latest piece of research on the subject, our Young Driver Safety Report, and we're delighted by the reception it's had. We support changes that are backed by strong evidence and this report outlines both how we can reduce young drivers crashes, and the strong public support for the changes needed.
