ππ THINK BEFORE YOU BEEP! ππ
π That learner driver in front of you isnβt holding you up on purpose.
Theyβre learning.
Theyβre building confidence.
Theyβre gaining experience.
And theyβre doing their best. π
When a learner stalls, hesitates at a junction, takes a little longer to move off, or needs extra time to make a decision, blasting your horn can have serious consequences.
ππ¨ A horn can:
π« Startle a learner
π« Cause panic
π« Increase anxiety
π« Knock confidence
π« Lead to rushed decisions
π« Create a more dangerous situation for everyone
Rememberβ¦ π§ π
π Every qualified driver was once a learner.
π Every experienced driver made mistakes.
π Every confident driver started with little or no confidence.
The Highway Code states that your horn should be used to warn other road users of your presence, not to show annoyance. β οΈπ
Instead of beeping:
β
Be patient
β
Give them space
β
Stay calm
β
Allow them time to think
β
Help them become safe drivers for the future
A few extra seconds for you could mean the world to a nervous learner. ππ
π Letβs make our roads safer, calmer, and more supportive for everyone.
ππ¨ Encourage learners, donβt intimidate them.
