Day 2 we drove out across the beacons to Brecon town for a quick look round and some coffee and cake. We drove through the black mountains and arrived for a tour from Wilds friend at the Penderyn whiskey distillery. Very interesting tour of how it's all done and we got to take home samples as we were driving. We stopped off at some waterfalls to stretch our legs before travelling back to Wilds for dinner.

Day 1 in wales. Wild was leader taking in some of the local sights. We headed over to the Pendine Museum of speed where we crossed off one of the missing "Chitty" bucket list from our last Welsh trip. We had a chat with the museum staff and got to get Nick a picture with Chitty Bang Bang 4 which was renamed Babs by John Parry Thomas.

So we've had the takeover weekend here on the island. My eldest son, Dave and I were out in the rail and GT40 to have a look at the variety of cars that had travelled over. Great time was had by all and had quiet a few chats with the owners. My son was having some difficulty getting first so the rails gear selector's been out to see if it's the issue. As the gearbox is not long after it's rebuild after loosing 17 teeth off second gear. The rose joint at the gearbox end was shot not surprised really after all this time. Replaced all the moving it anyway as it's out. On refitting noticed the selection rod was catching the selection leaver on the gearbox and was slightly bent. Straighted it all out refilled the selection mechanism and all is good. Good job as well as the trip to Wales is only a few weeks away, could do without having to take the gearbox out.

Well the racks back from Kev's. He has skimmed off 0.3mm the bed and edges and the rack now has minimal play. It's back in the rail now, did a quick test run and it is a lot better. It will be properly tested on its trip to Wales next month.

I have been working on the GT40 which I have now moved over to a new page "Fraud GT40".

I have had an annoying slack in the steering on the rail since installing the S**o magnum center rack a few years ago. It's was new as well, so it's been removed and I know a guy with a milling machine as the issue is due to the rack teeth being to far from the pinion.

So if you've followed me for a while you'll recognise the MX5. I gave it to my eldest son and he's been working on it ever since. It's now running RX8 L*D, driveshafts, hubs, ARBs and brakes. It's not finished as the Mazda 6 2.5 engine will be transplanted at a later date. Anyway we took it to Japfest at Silverstone and was able to take it out on track for a proper shakedown.

Rails passed its MOT again. Best get ready for its trip to Wales in June..... And enjoy the summer sunshine.

Heading over to Munich currently to fix my son's car and a short break away. We we passing Stuttgart and stopped off at the Porsche museum. Great to see the original Dakar 959 and 2 other off roaders Doris and Edith which were very interesting vehicles. Lots of road stuff as well. Hopefully I'll be starting work on the rail when I get back as it's going to Wales for a few days with the guys.in June.

Sorry it's been a while but there is a lot going on this end but we're settled in our new home now.

My wife organised a surprise baby shower for my daughter and I was required to be out. So I put a shout out for a Christmas drive out to the guys. Nice to have a catch up and with them before the Christmas mayhem and my new garage turning up on Tuesday.

We have 2 trips being organised for next year, one in Wales and one in Europe

Finished the water routing mods on the rail now so that will be back on the road. Be good to get some miles on before the summer runs out.

Also got some miles on the GT40 taking my son out on his birthday yesterday and going to its first car show today and met up with the guys. We've got some unusual vehicles for sure. Great to have a catch up with them all and go for a drive together. Doubt I'll get bored of hearing the supercharger any time soon
