Alfa Romeo 1750 we had in for work recently 👌.

We had this lovely Alfa 1750 GTV in the workshop a few weeks ago for a range of jobs.

The first task was to diagnose a slow/no-start issue. We found the starter motor was in poor condition, and the battery cable to the starter motor had become corroded, creating high resistance. Both were replaced, restoring reliable starting.

While working in the engine bay, we also replaced both collapsed engine mounts. To finish things off, we fitted a set of GTA-style trumpets to give the engine an even better soundtrack.

Moving on to the suspension, we rebuilt the T-bar with new bushes and replaced the outer track rod ends. The front caster arm bushes were also renewed, as they were knocking over bumps and had noticeable play when the wheels were checked by hand.

We like to look after all our customers, so before collection we gave the car a quick wash and polish, leaving it looking as good as it drives.
A great-looking Alfa, and now even better to drive. 🚗✨

Running in this 2 litre Alfa Romeo engine on the dyno

We had this stunning Alfa Romeo 1300 GT Junior in the workshop a few weeks ago for a number of small jobs.

The main task was diagnosing why the steering felt so vague. Unfortunately, this was traced to the steering box, which will require a rebuild.

We also carried out a compression test and a leak-down test on the engine to give the customer a clearer picture of its overall health.

Other jobs included investigating why the interior lights weren’t working. This turned out to be a poor earth on one side and a broken bulb holder on the other.

Finally, we fitted new prop shaft nuts on the prop donut, as the existing nuts were too long and the nylocs were not engaging with the threads on the bolts.

Lovely Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV we had in recently for a number of small jobs.

The car was first brought to us earlier in the year as the engine had been rebuilt and needed the ignition timing and carburettors set up so the customer could do some running in miles.

With the running in miles now completed, the car returned for an oil and filter change. We also inspected the oil filter for any metal debris.

Finally we refitted an original steering wheel, replacing an aftermarket unit and returning the interior to a more authentic specification.

Alfa Romeo twin Spark engine we have just finished building going on fuel injection.

We are using Jenvey heritage throttle bodies with a DTA T4 ECU that is going to be mapped by sandy brown.

Plenty of goodies in this engine including Alfaholics pistons, con rods and high lift camshafts.

Alfa Romeo 2000 engine ready to go on the engine dyno next week to be run in and setup

Lovely Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV we had in a few weeks ago.
The customer had recently rebuilt the 2 litre engine himself with fast road camshafts and wanted us to setup it up correctly and road tune it.

A wide band lambda sensor comes in very handy for this so we could get the fueling on part and full throttle correct throughout the rev range.
This was a little tricky to setup due to having some very high lift camshafts in the engine but we ended up changing the emulsion tubes along with air correctors and pump jets to give us a much smoother engine for the road.

As well as fueling we setup the 123 Bluetooth distributor with our own ignition curve and tweaked it to the engine spec.

While we had the car we changed 4 steering ball joints and the passenger side lower arm bushes due to excessive play. The car was then taken to tracking and road tested before handing the car back over to the customer for his long drive back home.
