At Ross Autos, we believe in remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today.

🔥🏎️ ROSS AUTOS – CARS & FIREWORKS NIGHT! 🎆

It’s happening! We’re hosting our first Cars & Fireworks Night at Ross Autos on Sunday 1st November!

With the Stockton fireworks display taking place nearby, we thought it’d be a great excuse to get everyone together for a night of cars, good company and hopefully a cracking view of the fireworks!

Whether you’re into JDM, German, modified, classics, performance cars or just fancy coming down for a look, everyone’s welcome!

🏎️ STATIC CAR MEET – Bring your pride and joy down, have a look around and meet some other car enthusiasts.

🎆 FIREWORKS VIEWING – Stockton’s public fireworks display will be taking place nearby. We’re hoping to enjoy the display from our location.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 FAMILY FRIENDLY – Bring the kids, your other half or a few friends. You don’t need to own a modified car to come along!

The colder weather is creeping in, and the last thing anyone wants is to be stuck at the side of the road this winter!

We’ve had a few changes going on behind the scenes recently, so we thought we’d give everyone a little update!

First things first, Ross Autos isn’t going anywhere! 💪

We’ve officially separated the car sales side of the business, which will now operate under its own name – The Car Haus! 🖤💛

The Car Haus is a completely separate business dedicated to buying and selling quality used cars, from affordable little runarounds to performance vehicles.

Both businesses will continue operating from the same premises here in Stockton-on-Tees, just focusing on their own areas.

With diesel prices and the cost of running cars these days, sometimes you just want a cheap little petrol that does the job 😂

Got 3 decent little motors in at the minute, all cheap to run, cheap to maintain and nothing daft.

All 3 have just had a fresh 12 months MOT and are ready to go 👌

Ideal first cars, work cars or just something cheap to knock about in without spending a fortune.

🔧 Common Nissan Juke 1.5 dCi DPF Issue

This Juke came in with DPF problems and excessively high back pressure.

One common issue on these engines is the small metal exhaust/turbo pressure sensor pipe blocking solid with carbon. Because the ECU relies on this pressure reading to correctly control and monitor the turbo, EGR and DPF system, a blocked pipe can cause incorrect readings, poor performance and contribute to DPF/regeneration problems.

Ours was completely carboned up.

Cleaning method wasn’t exactly in the Nissan handbook… guitar string on a drill 😂 Slowly worked through the metal pipe until all the carbon was cleared. Not conventional, but it works!

The DPF was then properly cleaned and the difference speaks for itself:

Before cleaning
❌ Soot: 29g
❌ Back pressure: 157 mbar @ 2700rpm

After cleaning
✅ Soot: 4g
✅ Back pressure: 21 mbar @ 2700rpm

A good reminder that a DPF fault doesn’t always mean it just needs a new DPF. Finding why it’s blocked in the first place is just as important. 🔧
