Here's why it's so important that a DSG & Haldex service is done properly 💥

Fresh fluid is just part of it. We also clean the gauze inside the Haldex pump, which catches metallic debris over time. Main dealers will typically just drain and fill, and this is why taking that extra step matters so much. If it's not cleaned as part of the service, the oil flow to the clutch pack gradually becomes restricted.

⚠️ Unusual tyre wear?

Cracking and splitting like this is usually a sign of a suspension or alignment issue - the tyre is just where it shows up. In this case, suspension bushings and an alignment were needed.

Replace the tyre without sorting the cause, and you'll be back in the same position before long.

It's also a serious safety issue, so if you're not sure, pop in, and we'll have a look for you. Luckily for this customer, they were already aware and had it booked in for repairs 😌

We'll check the alignment and suspension, tell you exactly what's causing it, and we've got everything here to get it sorted properly.

A bit of a bigger job in the workshop recently

This one came in for a clutch replacement; it had certainly seen better days...

Once we got everything stripped down, we found the subframe had rotted through and developed a hole 😬

So while the gearbox was out, we repaired and welded the subframe properly before fitting the new clutch kit and putting everything back together 💪

Not every repair goes exactly to plan, but we always make sure problems are fixed properly while we’re in there 🔧

All sorted and back on the road.
