Two days of one-to-one machine polishing training with Sam at CCC Detailing in Coventry.
Sam came with no previous polishing experience, so we started from scratch: how the machines work, how to hold them, body position, balance and control. Above all, we focused on working safely and understanding what happens to the paint as you polish.
It was an intensive couple of days, with around 18 hours spent here, including 15–16 hours of hands-on practice. We covered DA and rotary polishing, cutting techniques, understanding paint defects and an introduction to Kovax dry sanding. Theory supported the practical work throughout, helping Sam understand both the process and the polishing systems he’ll be using.
For me, the priority with any beginner is to build safe working habits first. The aim is to give them a solid foundation so they can carry on practising independently, understand their results and keep improving.
Sam put a lot of effort in, and it was great to see his balance and machine control improve over the two days.
I offer one-to-one paint correction and machine polishing training for beginners and experienced detailers. DM me to discuss what you’d like to learn.
