Do you own a 1L or a 1.2L petrol Peugeot citreon Vauxhall or DS then it likely has the puretech engine. An engine known for its issues. Whilst the manufacturer now claims to have special extended warranties in place unless you can prove every service was done on time and can prove the exact oil which was used then a warranty claim is likely to fail. The most common issue is cambelt degradation, so if you are unsure we can inspect for for and if local free of charge. Dealing with the belt before it becomes an issue is cheaper and easier and will also help resale. We have fixed prices so no surprises. A another wetbelt day yesterday completed mobile. 2020 DS3 with the 1.2 puretech petrol engine. The same engine in all the petrol Peugeot,Citreon,DS and Vauxhall. Another well maintained vehicle with only 44000 miles. Customer wasn’t experiencing any problems but had been advised by another garage that she should consider getting it done. As you can see from the belt it had started to deteriorate as they do. Sump removed and cleaned, pick up removed and cleaned. New belt kit and completed with oil and filter change using specialist Stellantis oil which is recommended for most of these engines now. Do you own one of these vehicles? Back issues and the motor trade really do not mix well. This week I’ve tried to carry on, albeit slowly but certainly been a challenge. I’ve chiropractic appointments, NHS physio appointment and again today doctors appointment as well as a specific set of exercises, where am I with it all?, actually no further forward just a repeat of a cocktail prescription. On the upside I can’t drink alcohol with the medication so at least I’m saving money avoiding the spitfire. Apologies to anyone I’ve not got to yet, I am coming just a little slower.

This mornings job was another Peugeot wet belt. I’ve already done the fathers, daughters and today was the son’s car. He has only just bought his one and with no history of the belt being done he made the right choice and just get it done. Super added bonus for him though. Top cover removed and clearly already been done and obviously very recent, checked the sump which has also clearly been off. No point doing again yet. Never take money from a customer for unnecessary work. The safest way to check is to get proper visual and not just through the filler cap.
