The British weather today has been doing its absolute best impression of a broken disco light. Sun, rain, sun, rain, sun, rain.
Brilliant.
Kent has been awake since Wednesday morning, shouting at people on the other side of the world, just to get things moving. And what did we have to show for it? A BMW X1. It is permanently stuck in βParkβ, and it absolutely, categorically refuses to start.
We have tried everything. We have reasoned with it. We have threatened it. Nothing. Tomorrow, we shall rip its ECU out and see why its tiny electronic brain has completely given up on life.
On a brighter note, a massive thank you to UHBA for referring a customer and sending a glorious Mk1 Range Rover our way for service. We love it. And frankly, itβs much more interesting than the BMW, which is currently acting as a very expensive garden ornament.
Naturally, we also moved the Hustler into the workshop... and then did absolutely nothing to it whatsoever. Efficiency at its finest.
We did manage to sell some scrap metal, which netted us a grand total of a few pounds. Naturally, we went straight to Costco and immediately blew the entire profit on vast quantities of water.
After picking up some gearbox oil, we returned to the stubborn X1, poked it a bit more, and concluded exactly what we knew at 9:00 AM: the DDE module is completely dead.
So, we gave up, went out on mobile diagnostics for two lovely customers, and successfully booked one in for a service next week. A triumph, of sorts.
Its Friday tomorrow!
