MONTE CARLO LEGENDS

The 1965 Monte Carlo Rally was won by Mini Cooper AJB 44B, now part of the collection at Gaydon. Driven by Timo Mäkinen with Paul Easter as co-driver. it followed the success of another Mini, 33 EJB, the year before.

We look forward to welcoming Paul on to our display at the BMC & Leyland Show on Sunday 12 July and visitors have free entry to the museum where the Monte collection is held.

LESS THAN THREE WEEKS TO GO

We are on countdown to this year's BMC & Leyland Show at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon on Sunday 12 July.

As well as the cars, you can visit Pablo Raybould's bookstall which will have a collection of his rallying biographies, including a new run of his W***y Cave book with more photographs and W***y's order of service.

Find us on the grass in front of the main museum building next to the Historic Marathon Rally Group display which will also have some great cars for you to see.

MAESTROS REUNITED AT GAYDON

There are now less than five weeks to this year's BMC & Leyland Show at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon on Sunday 12 July.

We will have cars new to our display, but amongst those returning from last year are these two MG Maestros, seen duelling at Silverstone.

We have room for a few more in the display so, if you have an Abingdon prepared car and would like to show it, please message us.

SIX WEEKS TO GAYDON

The annual BMC & Leyland Show at the British Motor Museum is just six weeks away and we will have our display of ex-Works, replicas and contemporary rally cars situated on the grass in front of the museum building next to the Historic Marathon Rally Group.

Although scaled down from last year, there will still be plenty of cars with great histories for you to see close-up.

RELIVE THE MEMORIES AT GAYDON

Tickets for this year’s BMC & Leyland Show are on sale on the British Motor Museum website.

Our display will be smaller this year, but still with a wide selection of ex-Works and replicas from across the Abingdon range of cars.

BMC & LEYLAND SHOW LATEST

As well as original ex-Works cars, we will have a number of faithful replicas on display, some of which are shown here.

The display will include a number of Minis, three MG Metros, two MG Maestros, plus an Allegro, Austin Healey 100, MG Midget, MGA 1600, Marina and Triumph TR7.

All on display in one place on the grass in front of the main museum building for you to see as part of your show ticket which can be purchased from the British Motor Museum website.

SHOW DISPLAY TAKING SHAPE

Whilst our display at the BMC & Leyland Show will focus on Abingdon ex-Works cars and replicas, there will be a small number of non-factory competition cars from the same era that have a story to tell.

Amongst its many races, 1969 Mini Cooper S, WNX 700H, driven by Will Sparrow (pictured) with Nigel Raeburn, finished 1st in Class and 11th overall in the 1970 RAC Rally and 1974 Mini Clubman 1275GT, GTL 430N, driven by Tom Bradley, finished 3rd in class in its final event, the 1986 Rally D’Antibes, the last international award for a Mini.

We will be situated in front of the main museum building next to our friends at the Historic Marathon Rally Group and, between us, will have around 40 cars returning from last year's 70th anniversary display, so do stop by and take a look.

LATEST CARS FOR OUR UPCOMING DISPLAY

This 1971 Marina 1.3 Coupe will be returning from last year to join our display at the 2026 BMC & Leyland Show.

In addition, we will have two non-factory competition cars from the same period, being 1963 Austin Mini Cooper S, 24 PK, rallied by Sir Peter Moon and Brian Culcheth amongst others, and this 1974 Austin Allegro that was also on display last year.
