Like many industries, we’re continuing to see rising costs from manufacturers and suppliers, with engine oil prices being one of the highest increases, which in turn is affecting vehicle servicing.

While it would be easy to switch to cheaper oils to offset these costs, that’s not a route we’re prepared to take. Your vehicle deserves the correct, manufacturer-approved oils that protect performance, reliability, and longevity.

Instead, we’re working hard behind the scenes, negotiating with suppliers and challenging price increases wherever possible to keep servicing costs as fair and competitive as we can.

Our priority has always been delivering quality workmanship and using the right products for your vehicle—not cutting corners to save a few pounds.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we do everything possible to absorb costs and minimise the impact on our prices.

Fridays fun fact - it’s been a while and it’s a good one!

Volkswagen has, in some years, sold more of its Currywurst sausages than actual cars.

The sausage — officially called the “Volkswagen Original Currywurst” — has its own VW part number: 199 398 500 A. There is also a part number for tomato sauce too! It’s served in factory cafeterias and sold in supermarkets across Germany.

VW has reported annual sausage sales of around 8–9 million currywursts, while global vehicle deliveries in the auto-market years have dipped below that figure.

So yes: one of the world’s biggest carmakers is also unexpectedly successful in the sausage business

🚨 Important Workshop Update 🚨

Due to the ‘boss’ leveling up another year (yes, somehow he’s still in one piece), I’ve had no choice but to step in and responsibly shut the workshop tomorrow. At his age, we simply can’t be taking risks—he needs rest, cake, and probably a lie down by 3pm.

We’re doing everything we can to preserve him in his natural habitat, so please join me in wishing Michael a very happy birthday before he turns into a classic model. 🎂

Back to business as usual Thursday at 7:30am—assuming he survives the celebrations.

FRIDAYS FUN FACT

For over 35 years, cars were happily rolling around without fuel gauges. No dashboard warning lights, no “range remaining,” no polite little chime—just vibes and a stick. Yes, a literal stick. Drivers would pull over, pop the tank, dip it and hope for the best.

Then came 1922, when someone finally thought, “What if we didn’t guess whether we’re about to be stranded?”

Fast forward to today, and we’ve got accurate digital fuel displays, real-time consumption data… and yet somehow, checking your fuel level still feels like emotional damage.

Because back then, the worst surprise was “Oh no, I’m out of fuel.”
Now it’s “Oh no, I need to remortgage my house to fill the tank.”
