Will the Autumn Budget bring clarity on EV company car tax?
With the Autumn Budget taking place tomorrow, 28th of October, could we get more certainty around future Benefit-in-Kind tax rates for electric company cars?
With BIK rates rising year on year to 9% in 2029/30, uncertainty around future tax costs has become a key consideration, particularly for company car drivers considering a four-year lease.
There are calls for BIK rates to be held at 9% for 2030/31 and 2031/32, helping to keep EVs an attractive option. Without this, continued increases could put some drivers off choosing electric, potentially slowing the transition.
Will tomorrowβs Budget provide the clarity the industry is looking for?
