This BMW E46 is grassroots drifting in a nutshell. OMP seats. Harnesses. A hydraulic handbrake. Nothing too crazy. Just the essentials for getting sideways with your mates.

It reminds us a lot of skateboarding. Once it hit the Olympics, it gained legitimacy, money, and a whole new level of athlete. But somewhere along the way, it lost a bit of that punk edge. The DIY spirit that made it cool in the first place.

Same thing's happening with drifting. D1 and Drift Masters are serious motorsport now - high stakes, pro athletes, big budgets. And that's great. But grassroots is where the heart is. It's about the community. It's about learning together, making new friends, having a laugh, and celebrating the chaos without the pressure.

It's the sweet spot between cast and fully forged. Light enough to improve handling and acceleration - as low as 8.3kg per wheel - but strong enough for track use. Straight outta Compton? Nah. Straight outta a British driveway.

White on white. Air'd out. Yellow headlights. Lower than your granny's ni***es. A period-correct 'slag tag' on the back window. This Mazda B2000 rolled into Supercharged and stopped us in our tracks.

This one's been on the owner's radar for years. The one that got away - always admired, always just out of reach. Watching it change hands, keeping tabs, wondering if the stars would ever align. Until that one day, they did. And he didn't hesitate to snap up his mini truck dream.

It's a proper slice of early 2000s mini-truck culture, but make it British. Air suspension, not hydraulics. Notched and sectioned chassis. Colour-coded bumpers and chrome accents. A period custom billet style wheel inside. Even the yellow headlights add that pop of colour to an otherwise monochrome sled.

The mini-truck thing started in Southern California. Cheap Japanese 2WD pickups became blank canvases for a generation who wanted low and slow. This one carries that spirit, but it's been shaped by UK hands and UK roads. It's a British take on an American tradition.

We love seeing builds like this at Supercharged. It's a reminder that car culture isn't just lap times and boost pressures. Sometimes it's about taking a workhorse and turning it into a statement.

The BC Racing RM series: like the BR, but built for track work.

The key difference is the inverted damper design. In a traditional setup, the oil and gas sit low down, right where the brakes are generating serious heat. That heat transfers into the damper, oil temperatures rise, damping characteristics change, and you start losing performance mid-session.

The RM series inverts the damper. The oil and gas reservoir is moved away from the hub, away from the heat source, keeping fluid temperatures consistent. The result? Consistent damping performance, lap after lap .

And that's just the headline. The inverted design also reduces unsprung weight (better grip), stiffens the unit (sharper steering), and uses a large 42mm damper rod that resists flex under heavy cornering loads .

All the BR series features are there - 30-way damping, height adjustment separate from preload, camber-adjustable pillowball top mounts - but the RM is the one for drivers who spend more time on the curbs than the commute.

Oulton Park in July. 30 degrees. Metal melting. Drivers sweating. And everyone still smiling.

Massive thanks to MSV Trackdays for organising and to everyone who came out to drive and chat. The variety on track was unreal - F20C Mk2 Escorts, TCR monsters, BMW factory race cars, and everything in between.

We'll be trackside again in early August. Same energy. Slightly less heat (hopefully).
