Thank you to Maverick Diagnostic for the opportunity to spend time at the UK Garage & Bodyshop Event 2026 at the NEC Birmingham. Assisting on the stand was a fantastic experience.

As a garage owner myself, it was great to meet and speak with other professionals from across the motor industry. It was particularly interesting to learn what diagnostic tools other workshops are using, along with the strengths and limitations of different systems.

At MMS Technik, we purchased our dealer-level diagnostic tools from Maverick many years ago, and we have never looked back. As a small independent business, we subscribe to their support package, which has been invaluable.

One of the biggest benefits is that Maverick's technicians can remotely dial into our diagnostic equipment and carry out software updates when required. Last week alone, one manufacturer released three separate updates. Having Maverick handle these remotely saves valuable workshop downtime and ensures our tools are always running the latest software versions.

During the event, I also learned more about Maverick's entry-level diagnostic packages, making advanced diagnostics accessible to smaller workshops and businesses.

More recently, I have been trialling the Xtool diagnostic platform. Although relatively new to the market, it matches and in some areas exceeds the capabilities of many established diagnostic tools. It is fast, stable, easy to navigate, and includes an AI-powered assistant that can help explain fault codes and diagnostic information, including the meaning of specific P-codes.

Overall, it was a great event and an excellent opportunity to network, share knowledge, and see how diagnostic technology continues to evolve within our industry.

JLR SDD is powerful software, but only if you understand how to drive it properly.

For independent garages, the value is not just in having access to the tool. It is knowing how the workflow works once you are connected to the vehicle.

Tomorrow, we’re walking through JLR SDD.

In our latest video, we did a complete run-through of the Zenith Z7 Pro tool so you can see what it actually looks like in use.
