NEW TUBE TUESDAY

Last week, we completed a full retube on this Ribcraft 6.8 metre RIB after the original tube was damaged beyond economic repair.

We manufactured the replacement tube in-house to the existing design using Orca Hypalon.

The specification included:

Orca by Pennel & Flipo Hypalon Tubes
Leafield Marine Inflation and Pressure Relief Valves
Black Trip with Anti-Slip patches

The finished boat now looks much as it did when it first left the production line.

Factory Friday at Ribcollar

This week we completed a full retube for a commercial inshore lifeboat operator.
We manufactured new Orca Hypalon tube sets from scratch and installed accessories to the operator’s rescue specification, including:

• Paddle and equipment storage bags
• Handles and toggles
• Rescue throw lines
• Custom fittings for operational kit

As per our normal specification, the tubes were manufactured from Orca by Pennel & Flipo Hypalon, fitted with Leafield Marine inflation and pressure relief valves, and built using BOSTIK adhesives.

We also manufactured and fitted a new self-righting bag for the same vessel.

The boat leaves us ready for service, with tubes and safety systems built for many years of operational use.

Factory Friday at Ribcollar Inflatables

Hypalon is one of the most durable materials available for RIB tubes. But even the best fabric has a service life.

This Scorpion 8.1m came to us with the surface coating worn thin. The owner made the right call: a complete retube rather than patching a fabric that had run its course.

We retubed using Orca by Pennel & Flipo 866 Hypalon, built to the customer's own design spec complete with Leafield Marine Inflataion and Pressure relief valves . The result speaks for itself. The Scorpion is a serious hull and it looks exactly as it should.
