These are referred to as brokerage boats, with our team handling the sale from initial enquiry through to completion and handover.
Buying a Brokerage Boat – Simple Step-by-Step Guide
Unlike buying a car, purchasing a boat through a brokerage can be an unfamiliar process for many buyers. However, it is a well-established and secure way of purchasing a vessel, with the broker acting as an intermediary between buyer and seller throughout the transaction. Our team will guide you every step of the way, from initial viewing and offer through to completion and handover, ensuring the process is straightforward, transparent, and hassle-free.
1. View the Boat
Arrange a viewing with our team and take the opportunity to inspect the vessel, ask questions, and discuss its history, specification, and maintenance.
2. Make an Offer
If you'd like to proceed, simply submit an offer through us. We will liaise directly with the owner and negotiate on your behalf.
3. Offer Accepted
Once an agreement has been reached, a deposit is paid to secure the boat, and the vessel is marked as sold subject to completion.
4. Survey & Trial (Optional)
Should you wish, you are welcome to arrange an independent survey and/or river or sea trial for additional peace of mind before completing the purchase.
5. Complete the Purchase
Once satisfied, the balance is paid to our client account and we prepare the sale documentation ready for completion.
6. Handover
Upon receipt of cleared funds, ownership is transferred and the boat is handed over complete with any available documentation, manuals, keys, and equipment included within the sale.
