In May 2018, the Group purchased National Truck Rental, which hires out commercial vehicles to many of the Republic’s largest companies. The drive from Cork to Kerry and back yesterday in the KIA K4 was actually really enjoyable and here’s why ⬇️

Full day on the road, mix of motorway and smaller Irish roads, so I actually got to properly settle into it.

What stood out most was just how comfortable the whole thing felt. Like, it never really felt tiring or “long drive-ish” the way some journeys do. Everything just felt easy from the start.

Auto hold was one of those features I didn’t think I’d care about until I was sitting in traffic and realised I wasn’t constantly going between brake and creep — it just takes a bit of stress out of the stop-start stuff.

On the motorway, cruise control + lane keep assist made it feel really relaxed. Not in a disconnected way, just in a “you can actually breathe and enjoy the drive” kind of way.

The seats were a big one too — genuinely comfortable for a full day trip. Heated and ventilated seats just added to that “no complaints, I could sit here all day” feeling.

Apple CarPlay stayed on the whole time for music and maps, so it just felt familiar and effortless. Like the drive was fully tailored for me.

Even the steering wheel and cabin setup just made it feel like an easy place to spend hours without thinking about it too much. It was just really relaxing.

There was also a coffee on board (naturally) and unlike some cars where cup holders can be awkward or in the way, it was well positioned in the K4 so it didn’t interfere with the drive at all.

Overall, it just made a long drive feel weirdly short and genuinely comfortable the whole way through.

10/10 would drive the Kia K4 anywhere and that’s why you should buy it ✅
