🚴♂️💚 THANK YOU FROM KILLYLOUGH CYCLING CLUB 💚🚴♂️
Following our 9 Counties Challenge in aid of the Gavin Glynn Foundation, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported us in any way.
Our members took on 404km across 9 counties over 3 days, and every kilometre was made easier knowing the community was behind us. This challenge was held in appreciation of the incredible help and support shown to the Mc Quaid family during Ted’s illness and treatment.
A special thank you to Jim for putting Killylough CC forward to support the Gavin Glynn Foundation, to Gerard for proposing and laying out the route, and to Sarah for the great idea to hold what turned out to be a very successful table quiz.
We are extremely grateful to Jack’s Bar for their support with sponsor cards, food on the quiz night, and food again after the event. A special word of thanks also to Jack for everything he did around the table quiz and catering, and to Kate McAree for the very tasty food.
Thank you to everyone who helped with sponsor cards and donations, including Jackie at Scotstown Pharmacy, Martin Kilpatrick’s Butchers, McMahons Centra Scotstown, McCarvilles Nearby Shop, Killylough, Tydavnet, Paddy McQuaids Shop, Glaslough, The Spin Doctor, Emyvale, Declan Treanor Commercials, and all other businesses Jim gave cards out to.
A huge thank you to Stephen Treanor and Joey Mc Guigan / Throttle Mad MCC for their extremely generous donation, and to every single person who kindly and generously donated or shared the fundraiser.
Thanks also to everyone who came out to welcome the riders home to Tydavnet, to Jim Tam McKenna for taking on the driving duties, and to Alan McMeel for the loan of the van.
We would also like to thank Ronan Gargon and Northern Sound Radio, along with Fabian Murphy and Sean McCaffery, for the interview and shout-outs.
Thank you to John Glynn and the Gavin Glynn Foundation for providing cycling gear for the event, and to Sharon, Imelda and Jonny for all the media work throughout the fundraiser.
Finally, our biggest thanks go to the 11 Killylough CC members who willingly took on the challenge, and to Paddy McGlynn who joined them on the journey home. Thank you also to all club members’ families who took sponsor cards and helped in any way.
To everyone we may have forgotten — thank you. Your support means so much.
Every kilometre. Every donation. Every child. Thank you. 💚
