We recently had a BMW G30 in the shop with a textbook case of "always double-check the spec sheet." The customer purchased this vehicle from a local dealership where it was advertised as having a full alarm system and advanced security features. Unfortunately, those features only existed in the written ad.
The client was shocked to discover their new car actually had no alarm system at all.
Being a Japanese import, retrofitting a standard alarm system on this model is no straightforward task. To get it up to EU specification, we had to:
âś…Replace the roof centre module and the rearview mirror
âś…Modify and repin the factory wiring and plugs
âś…Code and integrate the new system seamlessly
Despite a few hiccups and some extra troubleshooting time, we got it 100% sorted. It was a great learning experience and most importantly, the customer now has the peace of mind they actually paid for. (Fair play to the garage for covering the cost)
