Carpooling in Bangkok

We are a group of 6 Tohoku University students, visiting Bangkok in this September to find out what effect the carpooling system may have in Bangkok.

We are group of 6 students from Tohoku University in Japan. This group page aims to introduce a car pooling system to university students in Bangkok, especially to Chulalongkorn University students. Please join this group page and try our carpooling system!!

【What is Carpooling? 】
Carpooling is a system to share rides in cars owned by citizens. The driver and the passenger get contact with each

other and the driver drives the passenger to the destination by his/her car. In this way, passengers have access to convenient transportation (cheaper than taxis, more flexible than public transportation!), while drivers get a certain amount of money (or equivalent) so that he/ she can save gas and parking cost. As you may know, traffic congestion is now a big issue in Bangkok city and we believe that this carpooling system is one of the best ways to ease the traffic congestion. Not only does it solve the car congestion, but also benefits the drivers and passengers by letting them save costs of using their own cars and offering substitute for public transportation. While we strongly believe that this carpooling system can help reduce the cars on the roads in Bangkok, we also know that it is difficult to expect many Bangkok citizens to use this carpooling immediately because it's new and not known by people. For this reason, first we would like university students to know carpooling, try carpooling, and like carpooling. Hi there, we gonna hold a carpooling event again!!
Actually you can try carpooling in this event and after that we will eat delicious dinner together!!

you will share a ride with people who will participate in this event to get to the Central World Plaza. So, i wanna ask participants who have your own car to let others to ride on your car. I believe this is good opportunity for you to know what the real carpooling is and make new friends and get free dinner!!

Let's meet up in front of the chamchuri square. We'll be there holding big Signboad, so you can find us easily :)

i hope members who missed this event last time can join this time. Of course you can join us again, and new faces are also welcomed :) So, if you are interested in this event or carpooling even a little, DO NOT hesitate to join us.

Check this video out! It will give you the idea of what carpooling is. We are five students from Japan who are now working on carpooling project as a part of our short summer program. We aim to establish this kind of system for Chulalongkorn University students so it's safer and convenient. Please join our group!
