Sri Lankan racing driver Yevan David delivered one of the most exciting performances of the weekend during the Formula 3 Feature Race in Monaco, thrilling fans with a series of bold overtaking moves on one of the world's most challenging circuits.
Although Italy's Brando Badoer claimed victory after a dominant drive from start to finish, it was David's aggressive racing in the midfield that caught the attention of many spectators.
The race began with drama from the very first corner. Badoer made a perfect start and grabbed the lead into Sainte Dévote, while several drivers behind him battled for position on the narrow streets of Monaco. The opening lap saw close calls and minor contact as the field squeezed through the tight corners.
An early Safety Car was deployed after another difficult weekend for Tuukka Taponen, whose race ended following an incident with the barriers. Once racing resumed, Badoer controlled the pace comfortably at the front.
Meanwhile, Yevan David was making headlines further down the field. Overtaking is notoriously difficult in Monaco, but the Sri Lankan driver showed remarkable confidence and determination. One of the standout moments of the race came when David pulled off a stunning move around the outside of Christian Ho at the famous Grand Hotel Hairpin a corner where overtakes are rarely seen.
David continued to push hard throughout the race, producing several attacking moves and exciting battles that entertained fans watching around the world. His fearless approach demonstrated both skill and growing confidence at the Formula 3 level.
At the front, Badoer remained calm under pressure and managed his race perfectly to secure victory on the iconic street circuit. Théophile Naël finished second after starting from pole position, while Freddie Slater completed the podium in third place. Championship leader Luke Browning finished fourth to maintain his strong title challenge.
While the race winner celebrated on the top step of the podium, Yevan David left Monaco with plenty of positives. His impressive overtakes and fighting spirit made him one of the standout performers of the weekend and provided another glimpse of his potential on the international stage.
