Last month we had a some things to do. Restoring audi 200 engine parts. Lots of cleaning, blasting, zink plating, painting and assembly.

This is the beautiful audi 200 turbo Quattro we have mentioned before. Raw 147kw with 1b engine. Great car. Made me a big impression.

Although had a few bugs. We have mentioned the air leaks before. Other common problem with all old cars is broken hardened wires in the door boots. And when the copper threads brake some things stop working (some or all windows, mirrors, mirror heating, central locking). The only correct repair is to remove the whole wiring from the door all the way to the main dash. And replace (solder) wires as far from the moving points as possible. We have encountered a lot of nasty repairs to.

Often our customers with CIS cars (mostly 2.2 turbos) complain about 2 things:
- Problems starting;
- Poor acceleration, no boost.
We have a few video example to illustrate how we diagnose the problems. This car we repaired (a200 turbo Quattro 1B engine 147kw) had 3 issues:
- Cracked/leaky intake boot results in a poor starting. As it leaks the vacuum required for lifting the plunger.
- Broken hose to lower WG chamber from the intake. Big boost leak = no fun.
- Completely through WG membrane. If it wasn’t for the broken lower chamber hose this would resulted to overboost and fuel cut.
All problems solved and I will say – the car runs as hell. Boost kicks in and stays constant. Pure fun.

Small upgrade project for our customer. 4X108 hub swap to 5x112 + momo r17 wheels. The car had rear disc brakes so task was prety easy. Swap hubs with new bearings, new discs, new pads, new hand brake cables. Front is easy to. As the car had vented discs we only had to change the hubs with new bearings, new bigger brake discs (256 to 280) and bigger calliper housing. Callipers remain the same.
