What do you know about carsโ€˜ systems?

Internal combustion engines execute explosions inside their cylinders so as to generate the power that will move the car. Exhaust gas is a byproduct of those reactions; the engine must eliminate it before initiating a new cycle.

Modern exhaust systems force the gas through a catalytic converter in order to chemically make it cleaner and safer to send to the atmosphere. Besides that, they use pipes to expel the gas from the rear end of the car.

Since the engine forces the gas outwards, that piping should offer the lowest resistance to that movement. Performance exhaust systems allow the engine to waste less energy on that, which translates into higher usable power.

What do you remember about the SLS AMG?

That was the halo car with which the companyโ€™s performance division, , competed with the very best sports cars in the planet. It had a long hood and a short rear end inspired in the classic 300SL of the 1950s. Even the signature gullwing doors are there.

This week, a unit of this magnificent car has gone on auction. It belongs to its Black Series, which had its 6.2-liter in a version that offers 622 hp of power and 468 lb-ft of torque. At that time, it was the most powerful V8 engine with natural aspiration.

If you are looking forward to go as soon as it gets warmer, we have exciting news for you: has started selling the Marco Polo module for the brand new T-Class multivan.

We say because itโ€™s not a typical trim level. This is a package which you can install in the vanโ€™s cabin for camping use... and uninstall everything as soon as youโ€™re back home!

Considering standard and optional items, it features a double bed, a sink, a gas cooker, a backup battery, and a sleep package with blackout curtains, insect screens, and window grilles. The module is compatible with the short-wheelbase of the T-Class and its commercial sister, Citan Tourer.

Mercteil is a midsize company, so our staff members work closely most of the time. That gives us valuable opportunities to get to know one another and share our feelings and experiences.

Our offices are concentrated in one building, and there are large rooms with several desks in each one. This way, we have the option to talk to our coworkers in person whenever we want.

We all know that has made impressive progress with autonomous driving. The company has reached the Level 3, where the driver can engage in other activities while the car drives itself on a highway, for example.

Now, the company has taken a step to make this technology safer. It has been approved to use additional external lights whenever the car is in autonomous mode. The goal is to easily make everyone aware, including police officers. They will use the turquoise color.

Since the first car to use them is the EQS, weโ€™ve chosen some for that model for todayโ€™s selection. Give them a look!
