Buying a used car? Check these 5 things first, or it could cost you thousands 👇
1️⃣ Coolant condition and overheating. Dirty, oily or low coolant can point to head gasket trouble. Check it cold, and keep an eye on the temp gauge during the test drive.
2️⃣ Transmission faults. Slipping, harsh or delayed shifts, or a shudder when you pull away, are all red flags.
3️⃣ Electrical faults. Warning lights, dodgy windows and glitchy screens can turn into expensive fixes.
4️⃣ Diesel EGR and DPF. Lots of short trips can clog both, and repairs can run into the thousands.
5️⃣ Not having an MBI. Mechanical breakdown insurance costs far less than one big repair bill.
