We recycle and donate as much as possible of what we pick up in our junk collections. These are just some of the items we’ve picked up recently. They’ll be heading to the homes of people doing it tough - via our charity partners.

This morning we welcomed a group on work experience from . Their premises are just down the road from our depot in Avondale so we regularly host small groups from their work skills programme to show them what we do, what we expect from our team etc. hoping it will help them when they come to look for potential paid employment. It's a great opportunity to work with a like-minded local charity that's also focused on reducing waste going to landfill.

Every item we donate gets photographed and noted so that we can accurately measure our impact in waste diversion. Our annual Impact Report details the numbers, and more importantly the stories behind the numbers, for example, the difference having a sofa makes to a family who previously had no seating. This morning we welcomed Sarah from to the Limited.
Pregnancy Help is a charity that provides free practical support, care and advice to people caring for children throughout New Zealand.
Recently, we saw a post they'd made seeking donations of clothing. It immediately struck us as a great opportunity to connect surplus with need.

Clothing is one of the most common items we collect, but it's also one of the more challenging items to find new homes for. So we contacted them to see if we could help.

Sarah spent time sorting through clothing that we have stored, selecting pieces that will be useful to the families Pregnancy Help supports. By the end of the visit, she left with trolley loads of clothing, all destined for new homes and new owners.

Seeing good-quality items stay in use, rather than ending up in landfill, is exactly what our "Junk2Go Turning Junk2Good" programme is all about. ♻️

It was a special morning for some of our Junk2Go Rubbish Removal team members this morning as they visited the Pan African Community Centre in New Lynn. Every Thursday the Pan African Community Centre visit our depot to pick up items we’ve collected in our junk collections and take them and re-distribute them amongst their community.
They showed us the recycled items that have been used in their Community Centre including sofas, chairs, tables, kitchenware, toys etc.
Such a fabulous demonstration of how one person’s trash is another person’s treasure!
