New TV, fridge or washing machine? Then you probably know the struggle of what to do with all that bulky polystyrene packaging. 📦😅

It’s light, takes up loads of space and doesn’t belong in landfill. At our depot, polystyrene gets its own dedicated bag so it can be separated from everything else and sent off for recycling. ♻️

Got packaging piling up at home or work? Give us a call on 0800 586 524.

Footballs, a skateboard and a couple of frying pans: one box, lots of possibilities! ⚽🛹🍳

Everything in this box came from our junk collections. Instead of going to landfill, it’s been sorted and is now on its way to families supported by our partner charities. From weekend kickabouts to family dinners, these items still have plenty of life left in them. 💚

Clearing out the garage, shed or kitchen? Give us a call on 0800 586 524.

Thursdays are always a highlight at our depot! 🙌

Our Operations Manager, Robbie Turner, with some of the team from , one of our key charity partners. Every Thursday they visit to pick up items for the families they’re supporting, all goods that have come through our junk collections and are now finding new homes. 💚

Always great to see them. Thank you for the incredible work you do in our community!

Ever wondered what happens after we pick up your junk? 🤔 Everything that comes back to our depot gets weighed and sorted. These bedside drawers are still in good nick, so they’re on their way to a second home instead of landfill. 🙌

Weighing what we collect helps us keep track of how much we’re recycling, reusing and donating, so we know the difference we’re making for Auckland. 💚

Got furniture you no longer need? Give us a call on 0800 586 524.

1,045 tonnes.

That's how much the Junk2Go team kept out of landfill over the 2025/26 year.

Our latest Impact Report is out now and, and here's just a few of the headline numbers:

✅ 165 tonnes of reusable items donated free to Auckland families
✅1000's of beds, chairs, sofas, storage furniture, clothing, kitchenware and more, rehomed through our charity and community partners
✅ 880 tonnes of materials recycled including wood, metal, polystyrene, E-waste, hardfill, paper and cardboard etc

Our team does their best to sort the items we collect in our junk pick-ups with one key question in mind: is there something good we can do with this?

More often than you'd think, the answer is yes. That's the thinking behind our "Junk2Go turning Junk2Good" inititative, our programme for turning what people no longer need, into something someone else does.

We try not to overdo the numbers, graphs, tables etc as behind the statistics there are real people. You can read more about their stories and the literal impact we are making in the report https://lnkd.in/gJuGVCwN

You may know us through our "Junk2Go Turning Junk2Good" initiative, our programme that redistributes usable items that we pick up, to families in need. What gets less attention is the material that can’t be rehomed but can still be recycled.
In the 2025/26 year, Junk2Go recycled:
♻️ 460 tonnes of scrap metal
♻️ 264 tonnes of wood
♻️ 89 tonnes of hardfill
♻️ 65 tonnes of paper and cardboard
♻️ 2 tonnes of e-waste
♻️ 0.5 tonnes of polystyrene
plus a range of other materials.
We work with specialist recycling partners to process each stream properly, so these materials go back into use instead of going to landfill.

We all have one… that drawer (or box, or entire cupboard) full of mystery cables. 😅 Old chargers, power cords, network cables and leads for devices you haven’t used in years.

Don’t let them go to landfill. Our crew collects old cables and electronics, and we make sure they’re sorted and sent off for recycling so the copper and other materials can be recovered and reused. 🔌♻️

Time to finally clear out that cable drawer? Give us a call on 0800 586 524.

Double thumbs up from our Operations Manager, Robbie Turner!

Robbie keeps our day-to-day operations running smoothly. He coordinates our crews and fleet across Auckland and works closely with community partners to make sure the items we collect are reused, donated or recycled wherever possible.

His positive attitude and hands-on approach are a big part of what makes our team great.

Our team can have it gone in no time at all, and we will do our best to recycle and donate it to our partner charities if its in reasonable condition!
