We are a family owned and operated business “Panapa Charters Ltd”

We are second and third generation operators from our original business founded some 50 years ago in the Kaipara Harbour and have continued the legacy here in Auckland’s Waitemata/Hauraki Gulf. We consider ourselves pioneers of the industry and are passionate about the service we provide to our customers. Panapa Charters was founded and built up by our family’s values of hard work and belief in each other. As Maori and a Māori family in Business, we acknowledge Tangaroa and Mana Whenua. We will be active in upholding the mana and life sustaining mauri of The Waitematā Harbour and Hauraki Gulf. We look forward to welcoming you aboard our vessel MV MAJURO

Some things aren’t taught… they’re passed down

From growing up around boats, learning the ropes, reading the water and watching the old man do his thing — Panapa Junior has carried those lessons with him over the years.

And now, watching his own son start to pick up those same techniques, habits and traits as he begins his own fishing journey… that’s something special.

It’s more than just fishing. It’s about family, whakapapa, time on the water and passing down knowledge from one generation to the next.

What once was taught to him is now being taught to his son. Same waters, same values, a new generation finding their feet.
