While there is no fan fair, today unofficially marks my last day as a car dealer, as such.
Monday I start my new career adventure as the South island Manager for AutoFleet Capital import/export of Japanese cars to New Zealand.
I have been associated with members of this company that go back almost 20 years, they have been hugely instrumental in the successes of my business.
I won't sugar coat my situation, in a perfect world I would being going to work on Monday doing what I have enjoyed for a huge part of the past 43 years but events beyond my control have necessitated a new career path.
I'm 20 years old in the car game with 43 years of experience, I'm still as keen as mustard, I am extremely lucky to be offered an opportunity that I not only believe in but have worked with for almost half of my car dealer lifetime.
You can't cry over spilt milk, it's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all, never look back only forward , all these and so many more analogies i could quote, and that's all they are is quotes coz when you are actually in the hot seat they are meaningless, however on Monday yes i will be packing my big boy underpants, getting on a plane and giving the next adventure heaps.....coz that's me !!
