Here we go!
My 2nd and 4th R26b plate with its stationary gear bearing support is finally printing in the special casting filament.

R26b cast iron plates update.
It’s many late nights and every weekend lately with way too much plastic going in the bin! The learning process has been very steep but quite overhanging!
I’m slowly making progress with three of the casting moulds finished. Next is the slightly more involved front plate and timing cover with its side-mounted oil pump.
Note. The pictured plate moulds went in the bin.

Another batch of our HMR high flow anti-foaming adjustable oil regulators just arrived in the shop. These come tested @ 100psi and can be adjusted up to 135psi without reducing bypass flow. They’ve also had extensive testing done to lower the pressure differential from cold to running temperatures reducing the risk of cooler damage on start-ups. Same as last time, first in best dressed as we struggled to keep these on the shelf given the benefits over all the OEM regulators.

HMR R26b custom endurance block.

The goal here is to avoid using bandaids like heavy fuels just keep it reliable and/or excessive clearances that heavily affect NA power output.
Having spent 12+ years with several different billet plate designs plus my newly acquired knowledge of investment casting techniques. One could say the design goal post have shifted somewhat it recent months.
The coolant will enter and exit via the centre plate similar to Mazda’s quad rotor design. Oil will feed in via a manifold along the top of the block giving allowing more realestate for coolant flow to the plug area. There will also be additional external dwells to aid block alignment so OEM 13b tension will be used. The first design for testing purposes will have OEM block placement with final design having the port vertical so plugs on the bottom. This will allow a lot more flexibility in the back of the alloy 767b build.
