Big bore Honda 200 engine on the bench. This thing has sat around a long time, longer than I've been in the new shop infact so thanks to the owner for being patient! It should be pretty cool when it's done, it's actually not too far away at this point.

We've been open a year this month, the anniversary was on the 20th just gone, I've been too tied up in trying to get stuff done that I didn't make much fuss about it. Thanks to everyone that's supported me, given words of advice and encouragement. Means allot to still be open after a year, it's a bit of a risk opening your own buisness especially in the economic climate at the moment. Cheers everyone!

CB900 DOHC engine in for a freshen up. It's done 70,000km which doesn't sound like allot but it's definitely in need of a bitnof love. The bearings don't look too flash, it it had been run for much longer it'd have needed the crank ground or replaced... as it is I can just have a polish and a fresh set of shells.

Early 90's XR600 shock through the workshop, had the 5 star treatment. Fully restored, blasted, plated, powder coated, everything cleaned up to near perfect. Very happy with this one.

We've had a few bikes through the shop this week getting prepped for summer, I've also been helping Ewan (our occasional shop helper) with fitting some very orange wheels to his bucket racer. There's been some, if not minor progress made on the TZR50 bike show bike. All progress is good I guess!

The Otago Motorcycle Club Miniature Road Racing round 2 on Sunday. Mosgiel kart track, racing from around 10am, spectators welcome!

Triumph 400 on the bench, fresh Metzeler Roadtec 02 on the rear. The customer loves this bike, this is the second tyre I've put on for him in about 3 months! I can see why, it's a fun little bike to ride.

A lovely example of Honda's little four. A quick run on the dyno shows us the truth in terms of it's fueling... it's going to need a smaller set of jets I reckon! It may seem a little harsh on an old bike like this to run it so high in the rev range, though it is a bit of a nessesary evil when it comes to tuning the bike. You need to make sure that when the customer decides to give it the beans, it's going to deliver. You do also have to remember - the decade before honda produced this engine they were building 20,000 rpm GP bikes. These little engines are designed to rev!

Great day out on the bike yesterday. It was good to blow the dust off and make some noise, the bike felt a little alien at first but the flow came back after a couple of races. I did get a little overzealous in the last race with a rude pass on Podium Accounting Limited's Hayden Scorringe... sorry Hayden 😬

Suzuki FXR150 valve job. Bit of a rushed job for Ewan (who's been helping out in the shop). It's race day tomorrow and the bike needs to go back together! At least valve seal isn't going to be on his list of issues anymore... racing is at Kart Sport Dunedin Mosgiel, 9:30 until early afternoon if anyone is interested in spectating.
