King of the Arena doubleheader Easter weekend recap

Friday night we qualified, I three good heats managed to top our qualifying group and put us through to the finals.

Finals night on Saturday had two good races which put us on top points going into the final. Unfortunately in the final I gained some attention which resulted in us breaking the isolating switch off in the car was driving around and limp mode for 12 laps. I’d also broken the front of the steering box but we managed to circulate and finished the race. Unfortunately that’s put us one point of third but that’s the way it goes. We had fun with minimal damage.

The boys got the car ready and Kyle had a skid out at Harrisville on Sunday and the car went good.

Can’t thank Kyle and Shaz enough for trusting me with there car again.
Massive thanks to Kyle, Shaz, Jordan ,Lucas,Taylor and the kids, Debs, Mekah and the kids, Mum, Dad and anyone else who helped to make the weekend possible.

Also big thanks to the sponsors for the on going support.

Season recap 175p stockcar

💥18 meetings

💥15 wins

💥 2 roll overs

💥 5 different tracks

Highlights of the Season

💥 Qualifying at the New Zealand champs, North Island champs and the Gp. As well as qualifying at every other meeting we attended.

💥Winning the Charlie Bernsten.

💥Getting my first roll over.

Firstly this Season would not have been possible with out Kyle Lampp and Shaz trusting me with there car for the season, Thanks again!!!

There were a few ups and downs this season with coming so close to winnning a few championships but getting cut off with a couple problems out of our control right at the end But other than that we are really happy with how it went and the car preformed perfectly as always. Taylor’s Lampp Engineering & Motorsport chassis are somthing else, can’t fault the car at all.

We did a bit of travelling this season and went pretty well at every track we raced at.

This would not have been possible without my dad, Jordan MacRae and Kyle for all the work that goes on in the shed each week and weekends away. It definitely means a lot to me and can’t thanks you guys enough. My partner Mekah for watching the kids over race weekends and dealing with me out of the house during the week making sure the car is 100 percent. My mum for helping out at the track with the kids and quite often having to take Layton home after racing. Also a massive thanks to Shaz for dealing with us at your place all the time getting the car ready and/or washing up (also helping us lift the heavy boxes Kyle can’t 😉). There are definitely more people who have helped out through out the season and you guys definitely don’t go unnoticed. This sport is not possible without the help from all of you.

Thanks to all our Sponsors for your continued support, you guys are legends and we appreciate it a lot.

West Coast Champs we qualified for the finals. I had 2 good races putting us 4th on points heading into the last race off grid 4. As I took off the start the car lost power, unfortunately the battery had enough and that was our race over.

The Charlie

Race 1: Started grid 11, pushed through to come home 2nd.

Race 2: Came from grid 25 to win the race 🏁. This put me top on points heading into the final.

Race 3: I came under attack as soon as the flag dropped. I managed to keep going, getting my way through all the carnage and come home in about 6th place. Full credit to the Wanganui boys and girls doing all they could but the Lampp Engineering & Motorsport car was unstoppable.👌 Also thanks to Zeon for helping me out too.

Final result was I won overall by 1 point over of 212v Blair and 3rd 18v Hailey well done to you both.

Massive thanks to Kyle Lampp and Shaz again for the car and Kyle trusting me and telling me to do what ever it took to keep going.

Also a big thanks to Jordan, Kyle and David for the help on the car and Julie and Mekah on kid duty. This weekend we will be at the king of the arena in Palmerston North.

North island champs

Race 1 of qualifying I started on grid 16 made a few good passes to get near the front but unfortunately I got a bit tied up and come home in 10th

Race 2 I started on grid 6 new I had to make some good points in this race managed to get my way to the front early on and stayed there to the flag. This was enough to put me into the finals.

Race 1 started grid 2 had a car spin infront on me and had no where to go and dropped back a lot of spots come home in 6th

Race 2 started grid 17 few laps in another put me up the wall I was able to drive down then i decided to have a bit of fun and have a go at a few cars

Race 3 I was just cutting that’s out there having some fun unsure where I finished.

Overall finished 13th still happy as with that.

Big thanks to Kyle Jordan Jono and dad for getting the car all ready and to Auckland for me to be able to compete.

Also thanks to Trevor mason for a place to stay.

Good nights racing last night
Race 1 grid 27 finished 13th
Race 2 grid 13th finish 5th
Race 3 grid 3 finished 2nd

For one year exactly of no racing and a completely different car I’m pretty happy with that result! Finishing all 3 races infront of where I started and small amount of damage 👌🏻now to get car ready for night 2!
