Happy Humpday folks!

That midweek can be a real grind but we are on the downhill to the weekend! This David Browne crankshaft is being given a new lease on life as the team gives it some much needed attention after a failure. Its been in service for a long time and will be ready to get back to work when the team are finished.

Happy Tuesday Folks!

Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend and spent some time relaxing. We wont complain with back to back short weeks! Today we have an old David Brown tractor motor getting the treatment, its being bored to take liners along with some pretty large recesses for seperate fire rings.

Modern fire rings fit into a groove machined into the deck face but this is vintage technology where the fire ring is cast iron and sits on top of the liner to help seal the combustion chamber.

Anyway lets get today done and enjoy the week everybody!

Happy Monday Everybody!

Well kicking off the week strong with this one. Working on a high output racing V8, has us pulling out the stops on these cylinder heads. Machining them and getting them ready to go back to work, note the beryllium copper valve seats on the intake. With the valve size at maximum and massive ports this one is sure to breathe well!

Happy Thursday Folks!

Well with the camshaft out on this LS, we can now see the damage the failed lifter has caused to the cam lobe. Not pretty at all with both the lifter and the cam having worn away the hardening and scored a serious groove into the lobe. On inspection of the cam we can see other lobes starting to have serious issues with another showing a hole at the the peak of the lobe right next to the most damaged one along with others starting to.show odd wear marks. Time for some replacement parts to get this one back to life!

Well Tuesdays here everybody!

Today we can see this lifter has given up the ghost. Unfortunately its damaged the camshaft as well. Making the fix a bit more invasive than originally planned. But thats ok, new parts under way and the LS this came out of will be right as rain shortly!

Happy Monday folks!

Hope everyone is well after a hot weekend. Today we see a slight issue with an engine making an odd "tapping noise." Opening the sump and seeing seeing metal everywhere is bad, finding a snapped conrod is worse. But this is the "woops" of the day.
