🔧 Only 3 Weeks To Go! 🔧

It's been a busy few weeks behind the scenes at Overbridge Service Centre.

Between painting the floors at our new workshop, preparing our current workshop for the move, and continuing to look after our customers as normal, there hasn't been much time to stop!

Seeing the freshly painted floor and empty workshop makes it all feel a bit more real, and we're getting excited to see it come together.

A huge thank you to our family and friends who have given up evenings and weekends to help, and to everyone who has offered their support along the way. We really appreciate it.

If your vehicle has automatic headlights, don’t rely on the auto lights in bad weather. Turn your lights on manually.

With fewer daylight hours now and plenty of winter weather on its way, you should be using your dipped headlights more proactively.

Newer vehicles have auto lights that turn on when it's dark, but you’ll often need to manually turn the headlights on in dim conditions during the day. The automatic function often doesn't activate during daytime, even when visibility is low.

You should turn your headlights on dipped when it’s raining – you’ll also likely need to do this manually during the day.

Use your headlights when it’s raining because many of us have silver, grey, or white vehicles which easily blend into the road, grey sky, and water spray. Having your headlights on dipped activates your rear position lights. Together your lights make you much more visible to people behind you and people coming towards you.

Put simply: If your wipers are on, your lights should be on too.

You can’t have your headlights on full beam when you’re around people – it’s illegal. Your headlights must be dipped, even in heavy rain. Practically, that means you should only consider using full beam when you're not around other people and you’re driving on an unlit or poorly-lit road.

Big things are happening at Overbridge Service Centre! 🚗🔧

After many great years at our current premises, it’s time for a new chapter.

📍 Our last day at our current location will be 24th June.

We’ll then be relocating and reopening from:

📍 12 Waione Street, Petone
📅 First day at our new premises: 29th June

We’re excited for this next step and can’t wait to welcome both our loyal customers and new faces to our new workshop space.

Super Proud of our Apprentice Nathan, keep up the great work bud!

⭐ Scholarship alert! ⭐

Congratulations to Nathan Lamberg from Overbridge Service Centre in Lower Hutt for being awarded a 2026 KickStart – Pacific Peoples scholarship from MITO and the Inspiring Futures Foundation (IFF).

Nathan is working towards his Level 4 qualification in Light Automotive Engineering.

With all the talk about fuel going on, we’re getting a few questions about how to keep running costs down, so here’s a couple of simple things that can actually make a real difference 👇

⛽️A well-serviced vehicle is a big one. Things like clean air filters and fresh spark plugs help your engine run more efficiently, which means better fuel economy.

⛽️Also worth thinking about what you’ve got on (and in) your vehicle. Roof racks and roof boxes might be handy, but if you’re not using them, they can create extra drag and use more fuel than you’d think.

⛽️And don’t forget tyre pressures, under-inflated tyres increase rolling resistance and burn more fuel, so keeping them at the right pressure is an easy win.

Small changes, but they all add up 👍

🌧️🌧️Due to this wild weather (and the workshop having no power 😅), Overbridge is closed today.

Notice of Closure – In Loving Memory of Katie

Overbridge Service Centre will be closed tomorrow as we take time to mourn the loss of someone incredibly special to our team.

Katie has been a part of Overbridge from the very beginning, spending school holidays working alongside Shayne and growing into an irreplaceable member of our workshop family. Her presence brought life and laughter to our days — whether it was catching her filming silly TikToks, seeing her chilling in her race car out the back, or simply passing her in the lunchroom with a smile.

She was the kind of workshop kid every team dreams of, and her absence leaves a space that can never be filled. We will miss her deeply.
