Great News for Opotiki

Did you hear the news? This morning, Regional Economic Minister Shane Jones announced $79.4 million funding for Ōpōtiki’s Harbour development. We have the green light and the funding – we are building our harbour!

This marks an historic milestone and a generational change for our district and the whole eastern Bay of Plenty. This is our moment.

We will celebrate! Watch this space for details of our street party on 14 March. Our Mayor, Lyn Riesterer said “let’s take a moment to celebrate this historic announcement and then we’ll get down to the brass tacks of making ourselves a harbour entrance.”
