WOW, this made our day!!

With a few extra days off this weekend, Bodz, Hendy and the rest of the "Car Shark" crew, had another shot at tracking down some fish at Waitarere.

The fishing was going well, which was great, and then, this guy was caught.

Huge effort to get him aboard and the excitement level for the crew was off the scale.

We understand that with his weight (8.5kgs) and the wear on his teeth, that would have made him approximately 30 years old.

As we had enough fish on the boat to eat already, we all decided this guy needed to be returned to where he belonged to keep the species strong.

Overall, a fantastic day out.

What a great day out in the Manawatu

People gathered to enjoy the Rural Games this weekend to watch competitors go head-to-head in tests of skill, encompassing everything from fencing to shearing.

Bodz and Hendy had a great day supporting the Waitarere Beach Family Fishing Clubs annual fishing competition.

Snapper aplenty, but the results won't be known until after final weigh in this afternoon.

Perfect day and tow vehicle for the occasion..
