The hidden dangers of "Worn Out" shock absorbers..... The role of shock absorbers on your vehicle is to keep the tyres in permanent contact with the road surface, so if the shocks are worn the vehicles ride and comfort is or can be severly compromised. The potential dangers of worn shock absorbers, or that the safety of the vehicle, its occupants and other road users can seriously be compromised even if all other safety features are operating correctly. At risk is reduced braking effiency which will result in in longer stopping distances. This includes the effiency of the anti-lock braking systems (ABS) and the electronic stability control (ESP). Other critically affected components are wear on tyres and other suspension parts, increased passenger discomfort and less control when cornering or effects of strong cross-winds. Testing completed in Europe on vehicles fitted with ABS and also fitted with 50% worn shock absorbers had an emergency braking distance of 1.8 meters longer than the same vehicle fitted with 100% efficient shocks. Call in and have a chat about any concerns you may have about the stability of your vehicle.

Hi followers, all the very best for 2019.
I have two advise tips for this summer, number 1 tip is for your vehicle, please check your tyres often, lack of tyre pressure and poor wear patterns are most common failures and suspension faults can often be the cause. It will be NO surprise to you all that roads in the Manawatu are in poor shape, this is a major concern for suspension components in most vehicles. Call anytime to arrange an inspection of your vehicles suspension health.
Speaking of health, here is advise tip number 2, keep hydrated. ( damn simple really) Be good and keep safe :-)

Your tyres are the one and only link between you and the roads surface.. Think about that for a moment. You can have the most powerful engine, the most sophisticated transmission the most elaborate super trick suspension and brakes, but that counts for nothing if your tyres (and wheels) are sub-standard, worn or just wrong for the vehicle. (Platinum Wheels NZ)

The above is a quote from one of New Zealands most reputable tyre and wheel specialists, and nobody could say it better than that!!!

Please take the time to recheck all your vehicle tyres for tread depth & pressure, if your not sure, call in to allow us to assess the health of the tyres and advise you. Worn tyres that are under or over inflated is a reciepe for disaster in winter conditions on NZ roads.
