hi all , its been quite some time since i manage to get something on line , we have had several issues last year that meant a slow down in business not least the chronic weather causing havoc all over, as i age it becomes more obvious that its time to slow down and smell the roses, this being said the parts business is up for sale , now this does not mean we are closed ,
far from it its full steam ahead the parts stock is always growing and with covid now behind us the world supply is now back to what its was before the pandemic with manufacturing getting back to full swing
we stock Ford T & A parts, along with other stuff like cloth covered wiring, fender welting, small range of electrical components, under bonnet webbing , vintage car oils, some tyre sizes, etc etc all the time doing repairs in our work shop

with the irishman rally looming in approx 3 weeks the usual mad rush has started with the final assembly of an engine followed by a swap old for the new .
the new Burtz engine with its 5 main bearings block & crank looks Looks a winner give us a call for info on 09-8329818 and for those who already have one on hand we have heaps of good used parts like sumps, tappet covers, front cam covers etc etc .

the lock downs have not affected the flow of orders for parts quite the opposite with nowhere to travel to the man shed seems to have been the hot spot in many homes , there has also been a big increase in orders from Australia , the oddest overseas order was to Kathmandu , Nepal where he was converting from left to right hand drive. In the work shop of recent weeks , valve grind , steering box rebuild, distributor rebuild, 2 zenith carb rebuilds, ring gear replacement , brake over haul , cam gear replacement just to name a few all the time sending out heaps of bits , few thats enough for today cheers from Errol

with the main workshop all up to date its time to get on to some of those jobs that got swept into a corner like horn motor rewinds, , zenith carb rebuilds, etc .
next up i will try to do the engine swap on my 28 Tourer waiting for 10 years in a corner , this car features on our advertising in the Beaded Wheels mag

hi all with this current lockdown we are still sending out parts all over NZ its great to see the hobby in great health.
we have a good stock of 21" & 19" tyres &tubes and a few smaller 16" tyres for the small Fords like the prefect etc

Hi Folks as we all know the Covid 19 played havoc with all thing car related .
The latest info is all good
the Palmerston North swap @ Manfield is on sat 1st August.
The Rotorua Swap meet is now on 27th September
The vintage swap meet @ Manfield is on Sat 3rd October
The Mclean's Island swap Chch is on fri 9th to sun 11th Oct
all the above are confirmed and we will be in attendance @ all of them

well with this lockdown and little coming into the workshop I have been spending my time finishing of a 1920 Model T roadster in for heart transplant, new wheels (wooden rim) gas tank anti rust treatment, and the raising the top of the window as the chap sits tall in the seat and looks directly at the top rail of the screen.
that now ended I pulled out a few Zenith carbs and distributor bodies, spent the next few days bead blasting all then set about rebuilding them.
the carbs had all the passage plugs removed and cleaned out, then all the new jet were sized to the correct size as the units supplies were not up to size, apart from the casting these are now as new all test run on my pickup
Zenith carbs selling for asking $520 on exchange . the cost for and exch unit ex the USA is around $ 770.00 then you have to send an exchange back.

The distributors are the same only the casting is original everything else is new with points gaped to 020th, selling for asking $285.00 on exchange a well priced item compare to the USA price of $418.00 for the same
I think I may do a few original water pumps We will see

Hi All you Model A folk.
Well being all stuck at home what shall we do?? I know lets do some of that maintainece we all put off so lets think - that leaky water pump a new rear bush, possibly an replacement shaft, fit in an new seal rope, get rid of the end float and wallah a dry engine bay,
Next think of the distributor how are the shaft bearings a little worn mmm ?? this can be a cause of rough idle or a rough driving engine pull it out remove the shaft check it for wear, if ok fit new bushes, reset the end float up & down refit set points at say 020thou and I bet it runs way better .
Next have a look at front wheel bearings, king pins, etc also look at the brake linings etc . as we all have a few week on hand give your wife a break and get out the house and into the man cave . We have reasonable stocks of all these maintenance parts on hand and the courier system is still working so think about it ..

Hi folks . we have been busy in the back ground , finishing off our own aluminium 7:1 ratio cylinder heads the are so near ready i will take firm orders for them now @ $921.00 .
i have fitted one to my new engine to be fitted into our 28 rdstr/pickup it has been touched up a bit so to say . Big inlet valve, shell bearings fitted, new rods with shells, much lightened fly wheel , V8 clutch cover, modified cam, B carb fitted to a bored out A inlet manifold, electronic ignition in a std distrib , and of corse the 7:1 head , a 32 water pump, 6 alternater, up ratioed 2nd gear set in trans,

our much awaited over drive unit is getting real closed now so keep an eye on these pages for the release of them .

see above picture we have a truck that looks like it is in need of severe help , well thats just what it got.
The engine had a very exstensive rebuild
and is now putting out near 70hp -up from the 40 it was built with, 060 oversize bore,counter bananced crank done in our work shop , fully line bored to take shell bearings throughout, much modified cam by Henry @ Auckland cams Henderson, big inlet valve installed, 6;5 high comp head, lightened flywheel by 30 lbs again in our own work shop, 9" V8 clutch fitted, electronic`s fitted into the distributor, a model B carb installed to a bored out inlet manifold, oil filter fitted,
Gearbox fitted with a 20% up ratioed 2nd gear only avaliable from us @ Veteran & Vintage Swanson as they are made only for us,
Brakes all up rated with cast drums & fitted with FlatHead Ted brake floaters, all glass supplied by Jerramy of BeSpoke glass,
engine fully balanced by Bob Mead @ Balancing Specialist ,
All electrics replaced and alternater fitted, care was taken to keep the appaerance of truck as found , now fully licenced and legal and can be seen on the roads areound west Auckland
