We are on the hunt for another amazing and experienced mechanic to join our small team here at Thomsen Automotive 😌 we are based Petone and the postition available is on a permanent term 🚙 🔧

We are looking for: 🥁
- An independent person to perform diagnostic assessments and repairs on a variety of everyday vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake services, tyre rotations, wheel alignments, etc.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed to ensure the customers are well informed on their vehicle condition.
- Respectful with a professional customer focused attitude.
- A positive do it once, do it right - can do attitude.
- Ensure all work complies with industry safety and quality standards.

Requirements: 🥁
- Proven experience as a car mechanic with a strong knowledge of automotive systems and repairs.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications required or have relevant experience.
- WOF certification is a (huge) advantage.

We now have our own wheel alignment machine! Our wheel alignments used to be outsourced but we do so many of them it made sense to get a machine of our own. Now we can get them done faster and offer better quality control and greater flexibility to do non-standard wheel alignments, such as alignments to improve grip, improve tyre life or correct an issue with your car. Call us today to discuss your tyre and wheel alignment needs.

Easter will be here before you know it and for a lot of you, that means it's roadtrip time! We'll be closed from Good Friday (April 7th) until Easter Monday (April 10th) so get in touch now if your car needs a WOF, service or general check-over before then.

Yesterday Seb did the Alexandra Rd Hillclimb in the EV race car he designed and built. This was its second event for Ghost: EV Hillclimb Prototype and both events have gone smoothly with no problems. This is the onboard footage from his 3rd run. Huge thanks to Wellington Car Club for allowing the car to run at this awesome event.

Going away during the holidays? Our last business day of the year is Friday Dec 23rd. We reopen on Jan 9th, so if your car needs a WOF or service before then, get in touch asap so we can get it sorted for you before we shut up shop for a break.

As usual, things are starting to get a bit hectic in the leadup to holiday time, so if you need anything done to your car, get it booked in sooner rather than later. Did you know we can post-date WOFs up to two weeks? This means you can get the check done up to 2 weeks before it expires, and the new WOF will have the same expiry date.
