Know your history? Amazing San Juanico Bridge.

San Juanico Bridge is part of the Pan Philippine Highway that connects islands of Leyte and Samar from the city of Tacloban to the town of Santa Rita, Samar. With a length of 2.6 kilometers, it was considered as the longest bridge in the Philippines until the new Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) was opened to the public on April 27, 2022. Crossing the bridge offers a scenic view of the San Juanico strait with its whirlpools and islets scattered on it. It has two lanes and goes to Tacloban City (Leyte) and Santa Rita City (Santa Rita) (Samar).

A gift for the First Lady
Constructed during Marcos Administration (1969), the bridge was called as the “Philippine-Japan Friendship Bridge” as it was built using the Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA) loans. However, some say that the real cause of building the bridge was not for the people but as the late president’s gift to his wife, Imelda, a native of Tacloban, as the average daily traffic in the area was too low to justify the cost of construction. Conspicuously, after its completion four years later, it was inaugurated during Imelda Marcos’ birthday, on July 2,1973. Overall, the construction of the bridge costs $21. 9 Million.

The overall shape of the bridge is an arch-shaped truss design, with its main arch rising 41 meters above the sea, tall enough for medium boats to pass beneath it. On 2013, the bridge was slightly damaged by the super typhoon Haiyan (locally known as Yolanda) but the government managed to repair and reopen it within a month.

Familiar yung isa 🤔

The oldest inhabitants of the Philippines are the Negrito. They are a pre-Austronesian people who migrated from mainland Asia around 90,000 years ago. The Negrito population was estimated in 2004 at around 31,000.

The Mamanwa (or Mamanua) people of Northeast Mindanao in the Philippines belong to the hunter-gatherer Negritos of Southeast Asia and the western Pacific, and are presumed to be among the oldest indigenous peoples in the region (Omoto, 1984).

Ambane Rent A Van

The Baguio City Tour with foreigners.

The first time Ambane Rent A Van has been in Baguio city with a dozen more foreigners was really amazing because it grabs her dream finally came through, it was such a good feeling with Ambane's Rent a Van because it seemed like being in Baguio City with someone from another country is our desire with amazing experience.

The climate is generally more cold than the rest of the Philippines. Our foreign customers really enjoyed the fresh air, low temperatures, and the fog early in the morning.

It is very rare to experience the fog in Philippines and unlike in the other countries we like to see the fog and its magic none other than the amazing Baguio city.

But the Baguio is not just a cold place, it's a well known touristic spot mostly visited by Filipinos and foreigners of many countries around the globe and for this one is Papua New Guinea in searching for the refreshing and little bit different environment that they are living in every days life down under the Pacific.

The landscaping and all the plants and trees are making the place particularly picturesque. The place itself and the nature are quit clean, farmers and local people are very hospitable to visitors and they do take care for the clean surroundings. If you are more active type you can choose between many hiking trials or you can ride a horse, enjoy the Mines View, or even visit the strawberry farm and taste the fresh strawberries. Many couples will choose Baguio to make nice romantic photos.

And so with Ambane Rent A Van we can make your holiday or vacation dreams come through anywhere anytime in the Philippine Islands.
