Where will the biggest government funding go in 2026?

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released the indicative National Tax Allotment (NTA) for Fiscal Year 2026, with a record-breaking ₱1.19 trillion set to be distributed among local government units nationwide.

Davao City once again tops the list, highlighting the city's vast land area, large population, and increasing importance as one of the country's major economic centers.

ULAS FLYOVER VIADUCT PROJECT UPDATE JUNE 2026

The Ulas Flyover / Ulas Viaduct (sometimes called the Davao Catalunan Pequeño–Ulas Viaduct or Ulas Viaduct) is a major DPWH-built elevated roadway in Davao City designed to connect the Davao–Bukidnon Road (Pan-Philippine Highway) with the Davao City Coastal Road (Talomo section). Its purpose is to decongest the Ulas junction and improve east–west connectivity as part of wider coastal-bypass and expressway improvements for Davao.

The Davao City Bypass Road is one of Mindanao’s most important road infrastructure projects - a 45.5-kilometer bypass designed to improve north–south connectivity, reduce city congestion, and cut travel time from around 1 hour and 44 minutes to just 49 minutes once operational.

It also features the country’s longest mountain road tunnels, with twin tunnels stretching around 2.3 km each in Barangay Waan.

A major road project not just for Davao City, but for the movement of people, goods, and future growth across Mindanao.

We just tested my son’s Kids Smart Watch and confirmed that it can successfully connect to Davao City’s 911 Emergency Hotline.

After only one ring, the 911 operator immediately answered our test call. We explained that the purpose of the call was to verify that the smartwatch can reach 911 in case of an actual emergency.

This gives us extra peace of mind knowing that, when needed, my son can quickly contact emergency responders directly from his watch.
