OEM Retrofit | Audi A5 F5 – Virtual Cockpit, Navigation & Feature Activations

This Audi A5 F5 visited us from Stockholm for a combination of hardware upgrades and software activations.

The main upgrade was the installation of a brand-new Audi Virtual Cockpit, bringing a more modern look and significantly improved functionality compared to the standard instrument cluster.

What we installed:

✅ Brand-new Audi Virtual Cockpit
✅ Sport design activated
✅ RS Sport design activated
✅ RS Performance design activated
✅ Newest navigation maps installed

To get the most out of the Virtual Cockpit, we also activated the navigation system.

The vehicle suffered from a defective Function on Demand (FoD) setup, meaning navigation could not be purchased or activated through Audi's online services. We were therefore able to activate the system and restore full functionality.

In addition, we performed several software activations:

✅ Traffic Sign Recognition
✅ Subwoofer Menu activation
✅ Remote tailgate closing via key fob and interior button
✅ Full RS taillight animation activation

The Subwoofer Menu adds a dedicated subwoofer adjustment inside the MMI, significantly improving the sound experience on vehicles equipped with Audi Sound System.

The RS taillight animation activation was a full activation, as the vehicle originally did not have any taillight animation available.

All hardware installed was brand-new original Audi parts, with all coding, adaptation, and integration carried out in-house.

The result is a significantly more modern A5 with improved functionality, additional driver information, enhanced audio settings, and a much more capable Virtual Cockpit.

RetroLab Pro | Lamborghini Urus – Remote Tailgate Closing

In this video we're demonstrating one of the convenience activations available in RetroLab Pro on a Lamborghini Urus.

The feature shown is Remote Tailgate Closing, allowing the tailgate to be closed directly from the key fob.

The video shows:
✅ Before activation
✅ Activation using the RetroLab Pro iOS app
✅ Result after activation

No modules.
No hardware changes.
No remote session.

RetroLab Pro was developed for customers who cannot easily visit our workshop due to distance, allowing compatible OEM activations to be performed quickly and safely.

In this demonstration, the activation is performed directly from an iPhone using the RetroLab Pro app.

To perform activations yourself, all you need is:

✅ iPhone or iPad
✅ USB-C to Ethernet adapter
✅ ENET cable

No expensive diagnostic tools required.

Fun fact: While we normally work exclusively with Audi vehicles, the Lamborghini Urus shares its platform with the Audi Q8. This means a number of RetroLab Pro activations are compatible with the Urus as well.

Simple. Fast. OEM functionality.

OEM Retrofit | Audi A6 C8 Avant – Original Rearview Camera with Washer Function

This Audi A6 C8 Avant visited our workshop for a routine OEM retrofit — the installation of an original rearview camera including the washer function.

What we installed:

✅ Original Audi rearview camera
✅ Integrated camera washer system
✅ Full coding and calibration completed

The washer system keeps the camera lens clean in poor weather conditions and can be activated directly through the MMI.

All components installed were brand-new original Audi parts and integrated according to factory specifications.

The result is a fully functional OEM rearview camera system with dynamic guidelines and proper factory operation.

OEM Retrofit | Audi Q5 FY (2021) – RS6 C8 Heated Steering Wheel Upgrade

This Audi Q5 FY (2021) visited our workshop for a major steering wheel upgrade.

The car originally came with the standard round Q5 steering wheel, which was replaced with an original RS6 C8 heated steering wheel for a much sportier look and feel.

To retrofit the steering wheel heating properly, additional work was required beyond just replacing the wheel itself.

What we upgraded:

✅ Original RS6 C8 steering wheel installed
✅ Steering wheel heating retrofitted
✅ Steering wheel control unit replaced
✅ Additional wiring added for heating support
✅ Full coding, calibration, and testing completed

All components used were original Audi parts and integrated according to factory specifications.

The result is a significantly more sporty interior feel combined with the comfort of a fully functional heated steering wheel.

OEM Upgrades | Audi A4 B9 (2020) – Virtual Cockpit, Folding Mirrors & Auto Hold

This Audi A4 B9 (2020) visited our workshop for several OEM comfort and interior upgrades.

The car originally came with the standard analog instrument cluster, which we upgraded to the Audi Virtual Cockpit.

Normally we only install brand-new cockpits, but in this case we had an original unit available from a previous project with mileage very close to the customer’s car. The customer preferred this solution to reduce the overall cost while still keeping everything OEM.

What we installed:

✅ Audi Virtual Cockpit
• RS Sport design
• RS Performance design
• RS Runway design

To enable the RS Runway layout, we also updated the MMI software to a newer version.

✅ Electric folding mirrors
• Door control modules replaced
• Original low-version modules did not support folding mirrors
• Full OEM integration and coding completed

✅ Auto Hold function activated

All upgrades were carried out using original Audi parts and proper factory coding procedures. All parts installed were brand-new, except for the Virtual Cockpit used in this specific project.

The result is a significantly more modern and refined A4 with improved functionality and OEM-level integration throughout.

OEM Activation | Audi E-tron GE – FoD Feature Activation

This Audi E-tron GE visited us to get several original Function on Demand (FoD) features activated.

The vehicle was imported, which meant the LTE connection required for the Audi FoD Store was not available. As a result, the customer could not access or purchase the features directly through Audi’s online services.

The customer contacted us to see if we could help — which we of course could.

What we activated:

✅ Matrix headlights
✅ Headlight animation
✅ Dynamic turn indicators
✅ Park Assist
✅ Phone Apps (Apple CarPlay & Android Auto)

Many imported vehicles suffer from defective or unavailable FoD functionality due to region or connectivity limitations. In these cases, we are often able to help restore or activate the missing functions.

We can even perform many of these activations remotely.

OEM Retrofit | Audi Q4 E-tron (2022) – Multicolor QQ9 Ambient Lighting Installation

This Audi Q4 E-tron (2022) visited our workshop from Denmark to get the original Audi Multicolor Ambient Light package (QQ9) retrofitted.

The vehicle was not equipped with ambient lighting from factory, which meant the full system had to be installed from scratch.

What we installed:

✅ Original QQ9 multicolor ambient lighting
✅ Dashboard trim replaced with ambient light versions
✅ Door panels replaced with QQ9-compatible versions
✅ Front footwell lighting installed

On the Q4 platform, the ambient lighting is integrated directly into the door panels, which means proper QQ9 retrofitting requires replacing the panels — not just adding light strips.

All wiring was installed according to original Audi wiring diagrams, followed by complete coding and adaptation.

All components used were original Audi parts. All lighting components were brand-new, while the door panels were sourced from a 2025 Q4 in excellent condition.

The result is a fully integrated QQ9 ambient lighting system with factory control through the MMI — exactly as if the car had been delivered with it from new.

OEM Retrofit | Audi S5 Cabriolet (2023) – ACC (pACC) + Side Assist Upgrade

This Audi S5 Cabriolet (2023) visited us from Denmark for a major driver assistance and feature upgrade.

We installed original Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Predictive functionality (pACC), along with Side Assist including Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

What we installed:

✅ Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with pACC
• New gateway installed
• ABS pump replaced
• Front radar system installed
• Full coding, calibration and integration completed

The gateway replacement is a complex part of the process, where we ensure that all user profiles and vehicle settings remain fully functional after installation.

✅ Audi Side Assist
• Rear radar sensors installed in the bumper
• Includes Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), warning of approaching traffic when reversing
• Original Carbon mirror caps installed

✅ Additional upgrades
• Navigation updated to latest P1520 version
• RS taillight animation activated
• RS headlight animation activated

All components used are original Audi parts.

All coding, calibration, and component protection removal were handled in-house using proper factory procedures.

The result is a fully upgraded S5 with advanced driver assistance systems and OEM-level integration — exactly as if it left the factory with these options.

This Audi Q4 F4 E-tron (2023) visited our workshop to get the original Audi rearview camera retrofitted.

The system was installed using brand-new original Audi parts and integrated fully into the vehicle.

What we installed:

The camera washer can be activated with a single click via the MMI, ensuring a clear view in all conditions.

The result is a factory-correct rearview camera system with dynamic guidelines and proper operation through the MMI.
