Our work was on display at Tesla Takeover Europe this weekend in Flachau, Salzburg — Europe's biggest Tesla owners event.

Our customer ST-Performance from Salzburg was exhibiting their solutions to the Tesla community, including our LDU stator rewinding service.

As OEM replacement parts become harder to source, solutions like this matter more and more. A properly rewound stator isn't a compromise — it's a better-protected unit than the original, built to last.

Industrial gearboxes rarely fail suddenly. It usually starts with something small — a faint noise, a slight oil leak, a temperature that's just a little higher than normal. By the time it becomes a production stop, the damage has often been building for months.
At Matris, we specialise in repair and overhaul of industrial gearboxes — units paired with servo motors, AC drives, and other industrial drives, across all manufacturers and applications.
Beyond standard overhauls, we regularly handle cases where original spare parts are no longer available. When a machine has been discontinued and components can't be sourced anywhere, we measure the worn parts, create a 3D model and machine new ones in-house on our 5-axis CNC milling centre.

Woodworking spindle motors run in some of the toughest conditions imaginable — fine dust, resin buildup, moisture, and constant vibration, all while spinning at up to 24,000 RPM.

When a spindle starts to show signs of trouble — unusual noise, vibration, inconsistent surface quality — it's usually been degrading for a while already. The longer it runs in that state, the more damage builds up inside.

Proper spindle servicing isn't just a bearing swap. It means precise tolerance measurements, correct bearing preload, rotor balancing before and after assembly, winding impregnation to protect against the woodworking environment, and a controlled bearing run-in before the motor goes back into production.

Done right, a serviced spindle motor performs like new and stays that way. Done wrong, it's back in the workshop within months.

The EV repair industry is growing fast — and the problems workshops are facing are getting more specific.

A customer from the UK needed a coolant delete solution for their Tesla LDU application, tailored to their exact requirements. So we did what we do — got on a call, understood the problem, and machined it ourselves.

50 custom aluminium parts. First batch. Entirely designed and produced in-house.

This is where our stator rewinding expertise pays off beyond the winding room. Because we rewind Tesla LDU motors for a living, we understand them from the inside out. That knowledge feeds directly into how we design and manufacture supporting components.

The EV market has a rising problem.

Millions of electric vehicles are quietly rolling out of factory warranty — and manufacturers are not providing sufficient solutions to support them post-warranty.

Charging infrastructure, range anxiety, battery technology — these get all the attention. But for workshop owners and fleet operators managing older EVs, the real headache is finding a specialist who can actually fix a failed drive unit without replacing the entire powertrain at OEM cost.

That's exactly the gap we fill.



We don't service EVs. We remanufacture their hearts.

At Matris, we specialise in the rewinding and servicing of Electric Drive Units (EDU) — the stator is the electrical core of the motor, and it's what we do best.

Since 2023, we've been continuously developing and refining our Tesla LDU rewinding process, serving independent EV workshops, repairers, and specialists across Europe.

Every unit we rewind includes:

→ Completely new copper wire — no reuse of existing material, ever
→ New copper nickel-plated phase connectors, dimensioned to OEM spec
→ New NTC 100 kΩ thermistors with green and blue connector cables
→ Full epoxy encapsulation of the entire stator (Tesla's factory version covers only the winding heads)
→ Pre-dispatch testing with Schleich MTC-2 to GΩ insulation standard — vs. Tesla's OEM minimum of 4 MΩ

The result:

✔ 3% increase in phase conductor cross-section
✔ Significantly improved heat dissipation
✔ Reduced stator overheating

A customer brought us two worm gear reducers from a discontinued machine. The gears and worm shafts were severely worn, and replacement parts were nowhere to be found. A new machine would have potentially meant 6+ months of downtime and a €100,000+ investment.

Our solution? We modelled the new components in 3D and machined brand new gears and worm shafts entirely in-house on our 5-axis CNC milling machine. Alongside the custom parts, we performed a full restoration — new bearings, seals, laser welding, shaft grinding and bearing seat restoration.

Back in operation within two months. At fraction of the cost of a new machine. Backed by a 12-month warranty.

We're heading back to Hannover Messe this April — and we have a lot to show. 🙌

Over the past year, we've developed a new range of Axial Flux motor families, shaped not by what looked good on paper, but by what engineers and OEMs kept asking for: better solutions for industrial compressors and HVAC systems, where high speeds, tight spaces, and demanding duty cycles leave no room for compromise.

Here's where we stand:

✅ Validated beyond IE5 — the highest efficiency class in the international standard. Measured, not modelled.
✅ Air-cooled — no complex cooling infrastructure needed.
✅ Configurable shaft — extruded or hollow, depending on your application.
✅ Scalable power — up to three motors can be combined for higher output, no custom design required.
