หลังผ่านครึ่งปีแรก(ม.ค.-มิ.ย.61) ฟอร์ด เรนเจอร์ ขายได้ 27,455 คัน โต 36% เมื่อเทียบกับช่วงเดียวกันของปีที่แล้ว ครองส่วนแบ่งตลาดปิกอัพ 13.2% ทิ้งอันดับ4 มิตซูบิชิ ที่ขายได้ 20,290 คัน ส่วนที่หนึ่งและสองเป็นของ อีซูซุ (73,003 คัน) และ โตโยต้า (63,908 คัน) ตามลำดับ
นางสาวยุคนธร วิเศษโกสิน ประธานฟอร์ด อาเซียน กล่าวว่า ฟอร์ดยังไม่มองไปถึงการแย่งอันดับหนึ่งและอันดับสองในตลาดปิกอัพเมืองไทย แต่จะพยายามรักษาอันดับที่สามในปัจจุบันไว้ให้ได้ โดยไม่ยอมให้ใครแซงและต้องทิ้งห่างออกไปด้วย
“ครึ่งปีแรกเซกเมนต์ปิกอัพเติบโต 28% และเราโตมากกว่าตลาด คาดว่าปีนี้เราจะเพิ่มส่วนแบ่งทางการตลาดได้อีก”
ล่าสุดเปิดตัว ฟอร์ด เรนเจอร์ ใหม่ มี 20 รุ่นย่อย ซึ่งรวมถึงรุ่นไวล์ดแทรค XLT XLS XL กระบะฐานล้อสั้น (Short Wheel Base) และรุ่นใหม่ ‘ลิมิเต็ด’ (Limited) รวมถึง ฟอร์ด เรนเจอร์ แร็พเตอร์
โดยรุ่นแร็พเตอร์ และรุ่นไวล์ดแทรค 4x4 มาพร้อมเครื่องยนต์ 2.0 ลิตร ไบเทอร์โบ 213 แรงม้า แรงบิด 500 นิวตันเมตร ประกบเกียร์อัตโนมัติ 10 สปีด
ส่วนเครื่องยนต์ 2.0 ลิตร เทอร์โบ 180 แรงม้า แรงบิด 420 นิวตันเมตร จะมาในรุ่นไวล์ดแทรค 4x2 และรุ่นใหม่ลิมิเต็ด (Limited) พร้อมเกียร์อัตโนมัติ 10 สปีด ทั้งนี้รุ่น Limited ยังมีรุ่นเกียร์ธรรมดา 6 สปีดให้เลือกอีกด้วย
