As a result, the company declared itself bankrupt in 1978. An Italian court was forced to sell the company. It was bought by the Mimram brothers from Switzerland.

In 1971, Lamborghini surprised the world again with the prototype of the revolutionary new Lamborghini Countach. Although the car itself began production only three years later (in 1974), until that time it remained the focus of attention at any auto show. The prototype had the then newfangled vertically opening doors, rear air intakes and a powerful 4-liter engine.
However, in 1972, the company faced a serious crisis - the contract for the supply of a large batch of tractors to South America was interrupted. Lack of funds forced Ferruccio to sell part of his share in tractor production, which was bought by Fiat. Ultimately, the entire tractor production came under the ownership of the Same Deutz-Fahr Group, which produces Lamborghini tractors to this day.

Miura was a great success - in 1967 alone, 111 cars were sold - and the company gained popularity around the world.
