Three community dumpsters are now available for residential storm debris cleanup.

📍 Location: City Park along Adams Avenue

Please respect the posted signs regarding what can and cannot be placed in the dumpsters. These dumpsters are intended only for storm-related debris.

If you are able, please continue to use the Town Tree Pile for tree limbs and natural vegetation. This will help conserve dumpster space for residents who are unable to transport debris to the tree pile.

Town of Akron crews will continue working throughout the community today and next week to collect downed tree branches along the roads and sidewalks, while also continuing remediation and cleanup at Town facilities. Regular trash collection remains on schedule.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and support as we continue our community’s recovery efforts.

Storm Recovery Update:

Town crews continue to work throughout the community on storm recovery, clearing debris, repairing damage as quickly and safely as possible.

🗑️ Trash service is continuing on its regular schedule as conditions allow.

🚧 The landfill remains closed.

🗑️ Community dumpsters will be available in town starting from the late morning tomorrow for residents with additional storm-related cleanup debris. More information on locations will be shared tomorrow morning once the dumpsters are delivered.

🌳 Please take all natural tree limbs and branches to the Town Tree Pile. Please do not place tree limbs in the community dumpsters.

How you can help: If you are able, please check on neighbors who may be elderly, have limited mobility, or need an extra hand. Assisting with yard cleanup, moving storm debris, or helping with flood mitigation can make a real difference.

If you see a public safety concern, such as a blocked drain, sidewalk or damaged Town infrastructure, please report it so crews can respond as quickly as possible.

Thank you to everyone who has been helping our community recover. The support shown by our residents has been incredible, and we appreciate your continued patience as cleanup efforts continue.

Storm Cleanup Update:

Town of Akron crews are actively cleaning up storm damage and addressing safety hazards on Town property.

Thank you to the residents who were out throughout the night helping neighbors and assisting our crews. Your support and community spirit are greatly appreciated.

Residents may take tree limbs and other natural storm debris to the Akron Tree Dump. The roads to the tree dump are open and accessible.

Once immediate safety work is complete, Town crews will continue neighborhood tree debris pickup as needed.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue recovery efforts.

Please be aware that access to the Town pond is temporarily closed. Please see the information below for details.

The Town of Akron is continuing to respond to the significant flooding occurring throughout town.

Town crews are actively out clearing storm drains and drainage inlets to keep water moving and reduce additional flooding wherever possible. We are aware that multiple homes and basements have been impacted, and our staff are doing everything we can to keep drainage systems open during this ongoing event.

We ask residents to stay safe, avoid driving through flooded streets, and, if it is safe to do so, keep nearby storm drains clear of debris to help water flow.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as our crews continue working throughout the community.
