Kiper is a 7-month-old puppy with soulful eyes, a gentle heart, and a quiet, thoughtful personality. Kiper is still a bit reserved, especially in public or unfamiliar environments. She takes a little extra time to warm up, but once she trusts you, you’ll discover an incredibly sweet, loving puppy who simply wants to feel safe by your side.
🐶 Dogs: Dog friendly! Kiper absolutely benefits from having a confident, social dog around. She often watches other dogs before deciding that something new is okay, and having a canine role model helps her build confidence much faster. Because of this, we truly believe Kiper would thrive in a home with another friendly, well-adjusted dog. While we may consider exceptions, we feel a confident doggy sibling is the ideal match for her.
🐱 Cats: Cat friendly! Kiper has done well with cats and has shown she can peacefully coexist with them. She doesn’t currently live with cats but has spent time around them on numerous occasions. As with any puppy, slow introductions and supervision are recommended while everyone adjusts.
👶 Kids: Older, patient, respectful children would be the best fit for Kiper. She can be overwhelmed by loud noises, busy environments, and sudden movements, so she’ll do best with family members who understand that trust and confidence are built over time and are willing to let her progress at her own pace.
Like any puppy, Kiper is still learning how to dog! She’s continuing to work on house training and may have accidents while adjusting to new environments. She also has a tendency to nervous piddle… which we hope will go away/improve as she gains more confidence about living a normal life! She sleeps quietly in her crate through the night and has done very well relaxing in her crate during the day.
Treats are a wonderful way to earn her trust and help her realize that new experiences aren’t so scary. She’s curious underneath that shy exterior and continues making progress every day. But she will need continued help from her humans to become the dog she’s meant to be!
New places and busy public settings are still the hardest for Kiper. With patience, gentle encouragement, and positive experiences, her confidence continues to grow.
Kiper would benefit greatly from continued socialization, positive reinforcement, and basic puppy training. She isn’t looking for a family that expects a bold, outgoing puppy on day one. She’s looking for a family that will celebrate the little victories, give her the time she needs, and watch her blossom into the amazing dog we already know she can be.
