We are short staffed today, again. As a small company, it gets difficult to navigate vacations, sickness, and family obligations. Our customers are important to us, so please work with us, as we allow our team members to participate in their obligations. Many of our staff have been here for 5 to 11 years. We do what we can to work with them as quality staff can go anywhere to find work with ease.

Many of us who live around engines understand that various parts combinations can increase or decrease an engine's ability to use the air it’s given. When pushing the limits of engineering, obstacles are inevitable. Skilled engine builders and fabricators know that high horsepower always comes at a cost. Typically, there are two types of builds: those built for reliability and those built for maximum HP. If you are chasing the latter, you cannot achieve reliability without breaking things along the way. Some spend their lives finding more power only to uncover the next weak link; others simply keep doing the same thing while expecting a different result.

If JBP were to list the three most common reasons superchargers fail or end up in our shop for repair, they would be:

Detonation or Debris Damage: External objects entering the housing or internal combustion instability.

Mechanical Noise: Often the first symptom of oil blow-by or bearing stress caused by detonation, little or excess gear case lubrication.

Heat Damage: Typically caused by excessive supercharger RPM or sustained high-speed operation over long periods, which then leads to the first two.

At JBP, we feel many of these problems are avoidable. Social media has created a culture willing to push design limits, driving the "HP wars" to levels the average enthusiast can enjoy. However, the understanding that reliability drops as RPM and HP rise has not grown at the same pace. Many would rather spend their efforts discrediting the companies building these "go-fast" parts than recognizing the inherent risks and seeking solutions.

So, as an enthusiast, find your path. Evolve. Seek out skilled fabricators—remembering that no one is an expert in everything. Build your network, and don’t trust the internet for everything; it is often a source of misinformation.

What path do you run?

We appreciate our International Customers, but please recognize that we do NOT produce alternate invoices to save duties and taxes in our country or your country. We hear that many OTHER US companies do it. We are here to tell you that we have morals and ethics. If I am willing to lie/cheat, to get business, what does that say about our company? If you are willing to lie and cheat, what does that say about you?

3 times this week, we have had requests to produce alternative invoices, or use the customer's label where they are circumventing duties and taxes.

Moving forward today, all invoices from Jon Bond Performance, must travel under our label for proper customs clearance. Felony customs fraud is controlled under Section 18 U.S.C. § 554. JB Performance will not participate in creating an invoice that knowingly devalues the product. Exceptions: Customer label can be used if there is NO invoice, such as returning a non-repairable supercharger.

If you call a shop, and they provide any conclusion or diagnostic of a supercharger failure without a physical inspection should tell you all they care about is selling their services. A true professional would never risk their reputation by making non-factual judgements. Anytime that someone tells me they value advice obtained in this manner, I encourage them to send it off to that person.

If you have ever serviced an 03-04 Mustang Cobra intercooler and supercharger, chances are you have encountered difficulty in removing the supercharger intercooler from the supercharger. Not only is the silicone cleanup annoying and time consuming, but care needs to be taken to not damage the intercooler or bend the aluminum frame of the intercooler. Adding further insult, we often see silicone in all the bolt holes and stripped out threads.

We don't know why it took us so long to come up with this, but here we are. One of us finally realized this was needed about 2 weeks ago.

JB Performance now has this gasket produced and ready for shipping. Made in the USA by JB Performance using Fel-Pro material.

Introducing our newest lineup of products! Increases airflow by up to 40% in most applications!

Everyone knows 'Golf Ball' porting has been the way to go for years, clearly maximizing air velocity and fuel atomization, we decided to go straight to the source of your forced induction applications, covering replacement rotors for both twin screw/roots superchargers and even offering impellers for most Centrifugal Supercharger setups.
