In 1923, Bobbie, a two-year-old Scotch Collie/English Shepherd mix, became separated from his family during a stop in Indiana while they were traveling from Oregon. After searching for days, they reluctantly continued their trip, believing they'd never see him again. Then, 6 months later, Bobbie showed up on his family's doorstep!

He had traveled more than 2,500 miles on foot - crossing rivers, mountains, deserts, and enduring winter conditions to find his way home. As news spread, people from across the country wrote letters saying they had fed or cared for Bobbie along his journey, helping piece together his remarkable route.
