A customer recently contacted us about his 2022 Silverado 1500 that would start, but wouldn't shift into gear. To make matters worse, the dash was lit up with numerous warning messages.
After diagnosing the issue, we traced it back to the TCM (Transmission Control Module). The culprit? A damaged power wire and CAN bus wire that had been rubbed through, causing communication and transmission control issues.
It's amazing how two small wires can bring an entire system to a halt and create so many symptoms. Proper diagnostics are key to finding the root cause and getting our customers back on the road without unnecessary parts replacement.

At D&B MotorSports, no two projects are exactly alike—especially when working on older Michigan trucks!
We want to give a big thank you to Paul for trusting us with his 2008 truck. What started as a straightforward 3" lift kit installation turned into a reminder of the challenges that can come with modifying vehicles that have spent years on Michigan roads.
During the installation, we discovered the right front coil spring perch had rusted out. While it wasn't a major issue, it did require some additional work and unfortunately delayed the completion date. We ordered an OEM replacement kit, carefully removed the damaged perch, and welded in the new one to ensure everything was done right and built to last.
The end result was well worth the extra effort! Paul's truck is now sitting proudly on a new 3" lift, a fresh set of 35" Mickey Thompson tires, and Moto Metal wheels. The stance and overall look turned out fantastic.
Situations like this are exactly why we take the time to thoroughly inspect every vehicle that comes through our shop. Sometimes unexpected issues arise, but our goal is always to address them properly rather than take shortcuts.
